NANO (journal)

NANO is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published by World Scientific, covering recent developments and discussions in the field of nanoscience and technology. Topics covered include nanomaterials, characterization tools, fabrication methods, numerical simulation, and theory.

The journal was established in 2006 with 6 issues annually; in 2014 the publication frequency is increased. The 2013 Impact Factor of the journal is 1.260.

The Journal is a daily newspaper produced in Newcastle upon Tyne. Published by ncjMedia, (a division of Trinity Mirror), The Journal is produced every weekday and Saturday morning and is complemented by its sister publications the Evening Chronicle and the Sunday Sun.

The newspaper mainly has a middle-class and professional readership throughout North East England, covering a mixture of regional, national and international news. It also has a daily business section and sports page as well as the monthly Culture magazine and weekly property supplement Homemaker.

News coverage about farming is also an important part of the paper with a high readership in rural Northumberland.

It was the named sponsor of Tyne Theatre on Westgate Road during the 2000s, until January 2012.

The first edition of the Newcastle Journal was printed on 12 May 1832, and subsequent Saturdays, by Hernaman and Perring, 69 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle. On 12 May 2007, The Journal celebrated its 175th Anniversary and 49,584th issue.

General journal

The journal is where double entry bookkeeping entries are recorded by debiting one or more accounts and crediting another one or more accounts with the same total amount. The total amount debited and the total amount credited should always be equal, thereby ensuring the accounting equation is maintained. In accounting and bookkeeping, a journal is a record of financial transactions in order by date.

A journal is also named the book of original entry, from when transactions were written in a journal prior to manually posting them to the accounts in the general ledger or subsidiary ledger. Manual systems usually had a variety of journals such as a sales journal, purchases journal, cash receipts journal, cash disbursements journal, and a general journal. Depending on the business's accounting information system, specialized journals may be used in conjunction with the general journal for record-keeping. In such case, use of the general journal may be limited to non-routine and adjusting entries.

Nano (Spanish footballer, born 1982)

Fernando Macedo da Silva Rodilla (born 20 April 1982), known as Nano, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Racing de Ferrol mainly as a left winger.

He started out at FC Barcelona but, after only six competitive appearances with the first team, he went on to resume his career in both Segunda División and Segunda División B. In La Liga, he also represented Atlético Madrid, Getafe and Osasuna, amassing totals of 69 games and eight goals.

Club career

Nano was born in A Coruña, Galicia. At age 16, he seemed on the verge of a promising future as he was already playing with FC Barcelona's reserves, and the following year he made his first-team – and La Liga – debut, against Real Zaragoza; he would however, not be able to progress any further in his five-year stay with the Catalans, only appearing in three more games with the main squad.

After a solid first season with Atlético Madrid, with qualification to the UEFA Cup, Nano's career faded into obscurity as he was rarely featured with another club from Madrid, Getafe CF, and slightly more with Cádiz CF (the latter in the second division).
