My Religion

My Religion may refer to:

  • My Religion (album), an album by TNT
  • "My Religion" (song), a song by Ryan Starr
  • Light in My Darkness, a book by Helen Keller originally published as My Religion
  • What I Believe, a book by Leo Tolstoy also known as My Religion
  • My Religion (album)

My Religion is the eighth studio album by the Norwegian hard rock band TNT, released on March 8, 2004. It marked a return to the glam metal direction that ended with Realized Fantasies. It was said to be a "breath of fresh air" by most fans and received excellent reviews worldwide when it was released. It is regarded by a large part of TNT's fanbase to be their best album ever, including more known albums such as Tell No Tales and Intuition. Sid Ringsby joined the band to finish the rest of the touring for My Religion and to record the follow-up album, All The Way To The Sun.

This was the final TNT album on which Morty Black played the bass guitar. He left in late 2004 to join Åge Aleksandersen's band.

    Track listing

  • The guitar effect in "She Needs Me" was created using the overdrive effect, and punching a hole in the speaker's powertube.
  • "She Needs Me" is Tony Harnell's favorite song on My Religion.
  • Personnel

    Band

  • Tony Harnell – vocals
  • Ronni Le Tekrø – guitars
  • Morty Black – bass guitar
  • My Religion (song)

"My Religion" is the debut single co-written by Ryan Starr, was released on iTunes as an exclusive single in September, 2004. As reported by USA Today, "My Religion" was one of iTunes' highest-selling exclusive singles, with an estimated 360,000 units sold. In an interview given to MTV, Starr confirmed that the single had sold at least 360,000 units, and over 130,000 units sold in its first week. The number of sales is particularly remarkable as the single had no promotion on iTunes. Although popular, "My Religion" was not released on any other form of media including CD. Mirroring the single's success on iTunes, "My Religion" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Digital Songs. The singer and co-writer, Ryan Starr, has yet to release an album. "My Religion", along with "Stranded" and "Love Gone Bad", was performed on Starr's tour, which started July 15 in Memphis.

    Awards

The 2005 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records noted that Ryan Starr had sold the most exclusive-single downloads in iTunes' history. Although "My Religion" was slated to be available in stores in early 2006, iTunes refused to release Ryan Starr's single from contract.

In the south SATAN on the throne, surrounded the fire from everywhere
In the east LUCIFER proud, his power is the air
In the north great BELIAL, will rule over the world
In the west LEVIATAN, displaces a water abysses
I am standing alone like a exile, condemn but proud
I am not blind men ,like you - erring sheeps
My body hurts, but my soul fells full of delight
I hold u my hands high, and call the power of dark
The four sides of the world , I bow low my head
The greatest four sides of the world, I bow low my head
The four mighty gods, I go down on my knees
