The peach (Prunus persica) is a deciduous tree native to the region of Northwest China between the Tarim Basin and the north slopes of the Kunlun Shan mountains, where it was first domesticated and cultivated. It bears an edible juicy fruit called a peach or a nectarine.
The specific epithet persica refers to its widespread cultivation in Persia, whence it was transplanted to Europe. It belongs to the genus Prunus which includes the cherry, apricot, almond and plum, in the rose family. The peach is classified with the almond in the subgenus Amygdalus, distinguished from the other subgenera by the corrugated seed shell.
Peach and nectarines are the same species, even though they are regarded commercially as different fruits. In contrast to peaches, whose fruits present the characteristic fuzz on the skin, nectarines are characterized by the absence of fruit-skin trichomes (fuzz-less fruit); genetic studies suggest nectarines are produced due to a recessive allele, whereas peaches are produced from a dominant allele for fuzzy skin.

Peaches & Herb are an American vocalist duo, once comprising Herb Fame (born October 1, 1942) and Francine "Peaches" Hurd Barker (April 28, 1947 – August 13, 2005). Herb has remained a constant in "Peaches & Herb" since its creation in 1966, while seven different women have filled the role of "Peaches."
Herb Fame (born Herbert Feemster, October 1, 1942, in Anacostia, Washington, D.C.), sang in church and neighborhood groups as a child. After graduation from high school, he worked in a local record store where he met record producer Van McCoy and was signed to Columbia subsidiary Date Records by McCoy and A&R executive Dave Kapralik. Francine "Peaches" Barker (born Francine Edna Hurd, April 28, 1947, in Washington, D.C.), using the stage name Francine Day, started a singing trio initially dubbed The Darlettes and later renamed The Sweet Things after a change of record label to Date Records. Having produced two releases for the trio, McCoy decided to record Feemster/Fame and Hurd/Day together at Kapralik's suggestion. The resulting single, "We're in This Thing Together," was distributed to radio stations but went nowhere for months until December 1966, when a St. Louis disc jockey broadcast the single's B-side, a revival of the 1934 hit "Let's Fall in Love."
Peaches (also known as "Girl with the Peach Tattoo") is an unidentified female whose torso was discovered on June 28, 1997 in Lakeview, New York, near Hempstead Lake State Park. The cause of the woman's death is listed as homicide, apparently by decapitation. As of 2016 she remains unidentified since her skull, arms, and lower legs have yet to be found. The woman had a tattoo on her left breast depicting a heart-shaped peach with a bite taken out of it and two drops falling from its core, which resulted in her nickname.
On June 28, 1997, a dismembered body was discovered by a hiker in a wooded area of Hempstead Lake State Park, Lakeview, New York. Both arms, head, and legs below the knee were severed and have yet to be found. The torso was found on the west side of Lake Drive, about two-hundred yards north of Peninsula Boulevard. She was found in a Rubbermaid container along with a red towel and a floral pillowcase. With no leads to the woman’s identity, the police published a picture of the approximately two-inch wide tattoo in a national tattoo magazine, in the hopes of finding the artist who did the work. They received a call from Steve Cullen, a tattoo artist in Connecticut who claimed he remembered giving the tattoo to a woman. Cullen said he remembered the customer as a young black woman, about 18 or 19 years old, who was accompanied by two women, an aunt and a cousin. During the session, he also claimed she told him she was from either the Bronx or Long Island and that she was in Connecticut because she was having trouble with her boyfriend at the time. It is possible the woman had other tattoos on her arms or lower legs that the killer did not want found.

You will never know me
Like I know me
Like I know me
And I wish that you could show me
How your heart works
I will never know you
Like you know you
Like you know you
And I wish that I could show you
How my heart hurts
Take things in stride
And keep it all inside.
If no one ever shows
Than no one ever knows.
He was such a pretty man
With long long arms to wrap me in
I wanted to come back again
And feel his skin upon my skin
But oh with all my best laid plans
His perfect brow
His gorgeous hands
Just barely even touched me
But to leave his mark
Upon my heart
And…
You will never know me
Like I know me
Like I know me
And I wish that you could show me
How your heart aches
I will never know you
Like you know you
Like you know you
And I wish that I could show you
How my heart breaks
Take these things in stride
And brush the pain aside
If no one ever knows
Than no one ever goes
It was just a dream I had
To sooth me when I made it bad
To seek the sorrow and the sad
Is that so hard to understand
I chipped the light
Fantastic soul
You meet me there
And off we go
And crash into the wild wind
We fall and hit the ground again
And…
I will never know me
Like you know me
Like you know me
And I wish that you could show me
How my love feels
You will never know you
Like I know you
Like I know you
And I wish that I could show you
How your love heals
Take these things in stride
And let your heart be wild
If no one ever goes
Than no one ever grows
