My Boo may refer to:

My Boo (CeCe Peniston song)

"My Boo" (sometimes subtitled as "The Things You Do") is a song by the musician CeCe Peniston, which was released on the Steve Hurley's own record label in February 2001 as the singer's last single issued under the producer's Silk Entertainment label.

The single release followed the US Dance success of the Peniston's number two hit Lifetime to Love, her first Top 3 entry in the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play since 1995. Six months later, a remixed four track alternation of "My Boo" that featured also mixes from Ron Carroll would follow in August. But due to its exclusive release on vinyl, and non-availability either on various artists CD music compilations, the title became a very hard-to-find item at least in a digital format.

The song contained a sample of "The Bottle" by Gil Scott-Heron, one of the most important progenitors of rap music (at that time imprisoned for one to three years following series of drug possession charges as well as his failure to deal with persistent drugs problems, which scored at number fifteen on the US R&B chart.

My Boo (Usher and Alicia Keys song)

"My Boo" is a duet between American R&B singers Usher and Alicia Keys, written by Usher, Keys, Jermaine Dupri, Adonis Shropshire, and Manuel Seal, Jr.. The song was released as the album's fourth single in 2004. Set over a hip hop-style track, it was produced by Dupri and No I.D. It was included on the re-release of Usher's fourth studio album, Confessions (2004).

The song received positive reviews from critics, and has garnered awards. The single stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks, making it the third most-successful single from the album after "Yeah!" and "Burn", respectively. It was also ranked as the 36th biggest song of the 2000–2009 decade in the US.

Background

Usher and Alicia Keys had previously collaborated with the remix of Keys' 2004 single "If I Ain't Got You", which was released in the United Kingdom. During the production of Usher's fourth studio album, Confessions, they thought of various female singers to pair him with on the song. Usher and Kortney Kaycee Leveringston's rare demo version can be found floating on the Internet. Although it was and still is widely believed that it was Beyoncé. However, Jermaine Dupri, who co-wrote the song including Usher's number-one hits "Yeah!", "Burn", and "Confessions Part II", felt that he had established good relationship with Keys since she had worked with him and Usher.

My Boo (Ghost Town DJ's song)

"My Boo" is the only single released by the hip-hop group Ghost Town DJ's, released on Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label, on the album So So Def Bass All-Stars. The song, an invite by a female to a male, blends R&B-style vocals with a high-tempo electronic beat. The song was written by Carlton "Carl Mo" Mahone and Rodney Terry, and was included on both volumes of So So Def Bass All-Stars I & II.

My Boo (album)

My Boo (Together!) is the title of the third English-language studio album of the Ukrainian singer Ruslana. The Ukrainian version was released on 25 April 2012 under the title Ey-fory-ya (Ukrainian: ЕЙ-форі-Я) (Eu-phori-a). and then it has been re-released in Ukraine in July 2013 under the title Miy brat (Razom!).

Background

Two new Ruslana songs, "Wow" and "Sha-la-la" made their original appearance in the beginning of 2011; the former was the first single for the new album while the latter was an adjacent typical Ruslana production with gipsy influences. The music video of the first track publicly premiered on the Snidanok z 1+1 TV show on 14 April, and received positive feedback from the critics.

On 25 October 2011 it was revealed the title of the third single, "Davaj, hraj", this song being an anthem for the UEFA EURO 2012.

During an online conference with fans hosted by a Ukrainian website, Ruslana revealed her sources of inspiration for the songwriting of the album. Among others, the names of the famous composers Moussorgsky, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky were mentioned. It was also revealed that most of the songs were written by Ruslana, produced and co-written by Vlad DeBriansky in the United States, while the song "Давай, грай! / ОГО!ОГО!" was written and produced in Ukraine by Ruslana. Songs "Euphoria" and ""Роби гучніше!" were written and produced in Sweden by Stefan Örn.
