Murgia (Álava)

Found image_size,

Murgia It is a village to the north of Álava, being the capital of Zuia's municipity. In addition, it is the capital of Cuadrilla de Zuya. It is the biggest village of the municipality and there are the local government and most of the services.

Murgia was a group of villages. Historically, the population has situated to the both side of the road in Murgia. Nowadays, however, the road is denominated Domingo Sautu street, and the village has spread out to the sides. The Goba river separates The Cross neighborhood ("The Neighborhood") from the centre of the village.

According to the register of inhabitants of the 1 January 2007, the neighborhood had a population of 1,169.

Name

Keeping in mind the huge influence of the Basque, in Spanish too the village's name has three syllable and "i" letter is the one that take the main accent.

Border villages

To the North is Sarria, to the Northeast Zarate, to the Southeast Jugo, to the southwest Bitoriano and to the South Ametzaga frontiers, all of them are Zuia's neighborhoods too.

Lava

Lava is the molten rock expelled by a volcano during an eruption. The resulting rock after solidification and cooling is also called lava. The molten rock is formed in the interior of some planets, including Earth, and some of their satellites. The source of the heat that melts the rock within the earth is geothermal energy. When first erupted from a volcanic vent, lava is a liquid at temperatures from 700 to 1,200 °C (1,292 to 2,192 °F).

A lava flow is a moving outpouring of lava, which is created during a non-explosive effusive eruption. When it has stopped moving, lava solidifies to form igneous rock. The term lava flow is commonly shortened to lava. Although lava can be up to 100,000 times more viscous than water, lava can flow great distances before cooling and solidifying because of its thixotropic and shear thinning properties.

Explosive eruptions produce a mixture of volcanic ash and other fragments called tephra, rather than lava flows. The word "lava" comes from Italian, and is probably derived from the Latin word labes which means a fall or slide. The first use in connection with extruded magma (molten rock below the Earth's surface) was apparently in a short account written by Francesco Serao on the eruption of Vesuvius between May 14 and June 4, 1737. Serao described "a flow of fiery lava" as an analogy to the flow of water and mud down the flanks of the volcano following heavy rain.

Lava Records

Lava Records (Lava Music, LLC) is an American-based record label currently owned by Republic Records/Universal Music Group.

Company history

Lava Records was established in 1995 as a joint venture between Jason Flom and Atlantic Records, where Flom began his career. An accomplished A&R representative, Flom was responsible for signing such artists as Zebra, Twisted Sister, Skid Row, White Lion, and Tori Amos, as well as helping launch the careers of Stone Temple Pilots and Collective Soul. The label's roster includes Authority Zero, Antigone Rising, Kid Rock, Matchbox Twenty, Porcupine Tree, Skillet, Smile Empty Soul, Sugar Ray, The Corrs, Uncle Kracker, Vanessa Williams, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Simple Plan.

In August 2005, Flom resigned as chairman and chief executive of Atlantic Records, ending a 26-year career within the company. Flom was named chairman and CEO of then-EMI's Virgin Records U.S., following the departure of Matt Serletic that same month. In October 2005, Warner Music Group combined Lava Records with its Atlantic Records Group. Warner originally planned the move following Flom's resignation.
