Mungkid

Mungkid is a town in Magelang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. It is the capital town of this regency. The town center is located in the village of Sawitan. The entire government offices or agencies of Magelang regency is there. In fact, the offices owned by private parties are also in this town. Mungkid town was founded on March 22, 1984 to replace City of Magelang as the capital town of Magelang regency since then because since then also has to break away from Magelang regency of Magelang become a part of the city itself. Thus, each dated March 22 is celebrated by the citizens of Magelang regency as Mungkid Anniversary of the town. In fact, Magelang regency himself never commemorate the anniversary because no one knows since when standing Magelang regency. Many people consider this town as an administrative town and alternatives city. Mungkid town tour are on track to Borobudur temple which is about 4 km from the center of this town.
