Mr. T (comics)

American actor Mr. T has headlined in a number of comic books both under his own stage name and in conjunction with his role on the TV Series The A-Team.

Mr. T and the T-Force

Mr. T and the T-Force was released in 1993 by NOW Comics. It was written Pete Stone with art by Neal Adams and then various creative teams following their run.

The series apparently lasted 14 consecutive issues, not including a 1994 annual and various editions of #1, before closing when NOW Comics went out of business. This figure may be incorrect however, with the eleventh issue possibly being the final issue produced.

Many, if not all, issues of Mr. T and the T-Force included Mr. T trading cards.

Mr. T

Another comic version, Mr. T, appeared in 2005 from short-lived British comic publisher APComics. It was pitched to the publisher by writer Chris Bunting who was joined with pencils by Neil Edwards, inks by Randy Emberlin and with colours by Don Mackinnon. Mr. T was also listed as a Creative Supervisor on the series and did a round of interviews as publicity for the series launch.

Mr. T

Mr. T (born Lawrence Tureaud; May 21, 1952) is an American actor known for his roles as B. A. Baracus in the 1980s television series The A-Team, as boxer Clubber Lang in the 1982 film Rocky III, for his appearances as a professional wrestler, and for being a rapper. Mr. T is known for his trademark African Mandinka warrior hairstyle, his gold jewelry, and his tough-guy image. In 2006 he starred in the reality show I Pity the Fool, shown on TV Land, the title of which comes from the catchphrase of his Lang character.

Early life

Mr. T was born in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest son in a family with twelve children. His father, Nathaniel Tureaud, Sr., was a minister. Tureaud, with his four sisters and seven brothers, grew up in a three-room apartment in one of the city's housing projects, the Robert Taylor Homes, in a poorly constructed building, in an area with high levels of environmental pollutants and the largest concentration of poverty in America. While growing up, Tureaud regularly witnessed murder, rape, and other crimes, but attributes his survival and later success to his will to do well and his mother's love.

Mister T (TV series)

Mister T is an animated series that aired on NBC on Saturday morning from 1983 to 1986. A total of 30 episodes were produced during the first two seasons, with the final season consisting entirely of reruns. The series was produced by Ruby-Spears Productions. Reruns were later seen on the USA Cartoon Express in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and more recently as part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim late-night programming block.

Plot

The cartoon stars Mr. T as a coach to a gymnastics team (with a specific emphasis on members Jeff, Woody, Robin, and Kim), travelling the world while becoming involved in and solving various mysteries.

Paul Dini, Jack Kirby, and Neal Adams have all contributed to Mr. T's comic book and cartoon show.

At the beginning of each episode, a live-action introduction featuring Mr. T himself is shown to explain what is going on. At the end of each episode, Mr. T narrates a moral lesson for the audience.

El Que Sabe, Sabe is the fifth studio album by Puerto Rican recording artist Tego Calderón, released 8 years after his last studio album, El Abayarde Contraataca, and 3 years after his mixtape The Original Gallo Del País. The album won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Music Album.

Background

Originally set to be titled Mr. T, the album instead ended being titled El Que Sabe, Sabe in honor of Tego's father, Esteban Calderón Ibarraza, who died in 2004 and the production's title was a common phrase of him. It has lyrics influenced by Tego Calderón's life and also popular reggaeton. Calderón also decided to mix old school reggaeton with new music, for example: "Al Grano", which mixes reggaeton and dubstep. A duet was recorded with Latin Grammy winner Kany García. The song is about a young child suffering from many forms of abuse. Other songs like "Por Burro" and "Amar Por Amar" includes social themes. A song titled "Nadie Me Tumba" was recorded for this album, and a preview was released on the Internet, but Calderón decided to not include it on his album because he didn't want sad tracks. The rapper said that the song talks about his life and the problems que had after an accident.
