Mr. Know It All

"Mr. Know It All" is a song by American pop recording artist Kelly Clarkson. It was written by Brian Kennedy, Ester Dean, Brett James, and Dante Jones, with the production handled by Kennedy, Dean, and Jones. Clarkson described the song as a "vocally raw record" and stated that she and her producers strove to record her voice as it is heard at live performances, using as little auto-tune processing as possible. It was released by RCA Records as the lead single from her fifth studio album, Stronger on September 5, 2011.

"Mr. Know It All" is a midtempo pop rock song with R&B influences, with its lyrical content dealing with the themes of heartbreak, and relationships with wisenheimers. Upon its release, "Mr. Know It All" has received mostly favorable reception from music critics, who noted the song as significantly different from Clarkson's previous releases. However, some critics compared this song to Alicia Keys' single "Doesn't Mean Anything" (2009) and Bruno Mars' single "Just the Way You Are" (2010). The song became a commercial success, it became her ninth top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart. Internationally, the song topped the charts in Australia and in South Korea, and has attained a top-ten position in New Zealand, Poland, the United Kingdom. It also became a crossover hit to the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, becoming her first solo single to enter the country chart after 9 years since "A Moment Like This" (2002), prompting RCA to release a country version produced by Dann Huff in 2012.

Mr. Know-It-All

Mr. Know-It-All was a popular supporting segment of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. There were fifty produced. The segments featured Bullwinkle, in his typical know-it-all fashion, pompously giving advice and instruction on any and every given topic, such as how to catch a bee or how to sneak into the movie theater without a ticket. Of course, true to Bullwinkle's nature, something would always go humorously and disastrously wrong by the end. Boris Badenov plays a variety of roles as Bullwinkle's antagonist in most of the segments.

Mister, usually written in its abbreviated form Mr. (US) or Mr (US & UK), is a commonly-used English honorific for men under the rank of knighthood. The title derived from earlier forms of master, as the equivalent female titles Mrs, Miss, and Ms all derived from earlier forms of mistress. Master is sometimes still used as an honorific for boys and young men, but its use is increasingly uncommon.

The modern plural form is Misters, although its usual formal abbreviation Messrs(.) derives from use of the French title messieurs in the 18th century.Messieurs is the plural of monsieur (originally mon sieur, "my lord"), formed by declining both of its constituent parts separately.

Historic etiquette

Historically, mister—like Sir or my lord—was applied only to those above one's own status in the peerage. This understanding is now obsolete, as it was gradually expanded as a mark of respect to those of equal status and then to all gentlemen. It is now used indiscriminately.

In past centuries, Mr was used with a first name to distinguish among family members who might otherwise be confused in conversation: Mr Doe would be the eldest present; younger brothers or cousins were then referred to as Mr Richard Doe and Mr William Doe and so on. Such usage survived longer in family-owned business or when domestic servants were referring to adult male family members with the same surname: "Mr Robert and Mr Richard will be out this evening, but Mr Edward is dining in," but such usage today is rare in American culture but still quite common in others as a sign of respect when first names are being used, the last name is not known, or where English is not the mother tongue.

Mr. (band)

Mister also known as Mr. is a Hong Kong, Chinese rock band composed of lead vocalist Alan Po, rhythm guitarist Ronny Lay, lead guitarist Quincy Tam, bassist and backing vocalist Desmond Tam, and drummer Tom To.

The quintet originated from the underground indie scene where they were known as White Noise. Their breakthrough performance was their gig at Alan Tam's birthday party. They were subsequently recommended to Universal Music by himself who was deeply impressed by their skill and talent.

Know-It-All is the debut album by Canadian recording artist Alessia Cara. It was released on November 13, 2015 through Def Jam. It follows the release of her extended play (EP) Four Pink Walls, which was regarded as a preview of the album.

Singles

"Here" was released on April 30, 2015, as the lead single from Cara's extended play (EP) Four Pink Walls. The song became Cara's first top-20 Billboard single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, upon reaching on the peak position of 20 for the week of November 7, 2015 and Cara performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon with their house band The Roots. "Here" continued to advance on the chart reaching number 5. The song received an official video, which was directed by Aaron A.

"Wild Things" was released on October 27, 2015. The song was sent to US contemporary hit radio on February 2, 2016, as the album's second single.

Critical reception

Know-It-All received generally positive reviews from music critics, receiving a 70 out of 100 on the review aggregate website Metacritic based on 7 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".AllMusic reacted positively towards the album, writing "Going by the level of potential shown here, it's evident that Cara will eventually need a lot less creative assistance."Billboard was also positive in its review of the album: "As first impressions go, Know-It-All is a charismatic balance between dreams and reality that makes its author stick out in the most impressive way."Exclaim!'s, Ryan B.
