Retro Game Challenge

Retro Game Challenge, known in Japan as GameCenter CX: Arino no Chōsenjō (ゲームセンターCX 有野の挑戦状, Gēmu Sentā Shī Ekkusu Arino no Chōsenjō), is a Nintendo DS game developed by indieszero and published by Namco Bandai Games. It is based on the television series GameCenter CX and Shinya Arino himself gave much input into the game creation process. The game was released on November 15, 2007 in Japan, and in North America from Xseed Games on February 10, 2009. The game received a score of 33/40 from Famitsu. On February 26, 2009, a sequel, GameCenter CX 2, was released in Japan. Xseed Games announced that the game was not likely to be officially translated into English and in 2014 a complete fan translation was created for the title.

Gameplay

In the game the player selects a boy or girl playing retro games to appease the Demon Arino (based on the TV show's host Shinya Arino). The Demon Arino gives four challenges to complete for each game.

Each game is original, but with graphic, sound and game-play elements which make it look old, or retro. Many of them are similar in both gameplay and appearance to real Famicom games of those years. They come with fully illustrated manuals.

Hollywood's early years

In the early days of silent movies, the names of the actors and actresses appearing in them were not publicized or credited because producers feared this would result in demands for higher salaries. However, audience curiosity soon undermined this policy. By 1909, actresses such as Florence Lawrence and Mary Pickford were already widely recognized, although the public remained unaware of their names. Lawrence was referred to as the “Biograph Girl” because she worked for D. W. Griffith's Biograph Studios, while Pickford was "Little Mary." In 1910, Lawrence switched to the Independent Moving Pictures Company, began appearing under her own name, and was hailed as "America's foremost moving picture star" in IMP literature. Pickford began appearing under her own name in 1911.

Movie Star, Inc. is a New York City-based manufacturer, marketer and seller of lingerie, sleepwear and other types of clothing. Organized in 1935 and formerly known as Sanmark Stardust, Inc., the company became Movie Star, Inc. in 1992. It was acquired by Frederick's of Hollywood in 2006, who sold the company to Dolce Vita Intimates in 2010.
