Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew (currently stylized as Mtn Dew in the United States) is a carbonated soft drink brand produced and owned by PepsiCo. The original formula was invented in 1940 by Tennessee beverage bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman. A revised formula was created by Bill Bridgforth in 1958. The rights to this formula were obtained by the Tip Corporation of Marion, Virginia. William H. "Bill" Jones of the Tip corporation further refined the formula, launching that version of Mountain Dew in 1961. On August 27, 1964, the Mountain Dew brand and production rights were acquired from Tip by the Pepsi-Cola company, at which point distribution expanded more widely across the United States and Canada.

Between the 1940s and 1980s, there was just one variety of Mountain Dew, which was citrus-flavored and caffeinated in most markets (see Caffeine-Free Mountain Dew below). Diet Mountain Dew was introduced in 1988, followed by Mountain Dew Red, which was introduced and subsequently discontinued in 1988. In 2001, a cherry flavor called Code Red debuted. This product line extension trend has continued, with expansion into specialty, limited time production, region-specific, and retailer-specific (Taco Bell, 7-Eleven) variations of Mountain Dew.

Fred's 250

The Fred's 250 Powered by Coca-Cola is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race that takes place at Talladega Superspeedway. It was first held on October 7, 2006, as the John Deere 250.

Pennsylvania 400

The Pennsylvania 400 is the second of two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car races held at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, the other being the Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400. Starting in 2007, the race was moved from its traditional July date into August, swapping dates with the Brickyard 400.

In 2008, Sunoco, the official NASCAR fuel supplier, based in Pennsylvania, and the Philadelphia region of the American Red Cross, agreed to sponsorship of the race and charity events to benefit the American Red Cross South Pennsylvania-Philadelphia region. It marked the first time since 1996 that the event carried a title sponsor. Camping World took over title sponsorship of sponsorship through its Good Sam Club in 2011. The race was a 500-mile (800 km), 200 lap event from its inception in 1974, through the 2011 race. On August 10, 2011, it was announced that both Pocono races would be shortened to 400 miles (640 km), beginning in 2012.

The Bowling Proprietors' Association of America, through its marketing arm Strike Ten Entertainment, signed a two-year contract with the circuit to be entitlement sponsor starting in 2013.

Galaxy Food Centers 300

The Galaxy Food Centers 300 was a NASCAR Busch Series (now Nationwide Series) stock car race held at Hickory Motor Speedway, a .363-mile (0.584 km) paved oval track located in Hickory, North Carolina. One of the inaugural events of the Busch Series from its 1982 season, it was one of five races the series ran at the track in 1982, four from 1983 to 1985, three in 1986 and, from 1987 to 1994, was the series' first of two annual visits to the track; from 1995 to 1998 it was the only visit to the track by the series annually. until Hickory Motor Speedway departed the series schedule after the 1998 season. The race distance was 300 laps (108.9 miles (175.3 km)) in 1982 and from 1992 to 1998, 200 laps (72.6 miles (116.8 km)) from 1983 to 1990, and 276 laps (100.2 miles (161.3 km)) in 1992.

Jack Ingram won the event three times, the most of any driver; his 1987 victory in the race would prove to be the final win of his Busch Series career.Tommy Houston won the event twice, his victory in 1992 being the final win of his Busch Series career. The 1992 running of the event was marred by track damage from poorly cured asphalt, resulting in 132 of the race's 300 laps being run under the yellow flag; both the number of caution laps and the 26 caution periods set all-time NASCAR records.Jimmy Spencer scored his first career Busch Series victory in the 1989 Mountain Dew 400; the final running of the race, the 1998 Galaxy Food Centers 300, was the first and only career Busch Series victory for Ed Berrier.
