Motovun (Croatian pronunciation: [mɔtɔ̌ʋuːn], Italian: Montona or Montona d'Istria) is a village in central Istria, Croatia. The population of the village itself is 531, with a total of 983 residents in the municipality (2001); 192 of the residents have Italian as their mother language. The Parenzana was a narrow gauge railroad that ran from Trieste to Poreč between 1902-1935, passed valley below the town.
Motovun is a medieval town that grew up on the site of an ancient city called Kastelijer. It is situated on a hill 270 metres (886 feet) above sea level with houses scattered all over the hill. On the inner walls are several coats-of-arms of different Motovun ruling families and two gravestones of Roman inhabitants (dating from the 1st century).
In the 10th and 11th centuries it belonged to the Bishop of Poreč. From 1278 it was taken over by Venice and surrounded by solid walls which are still intact today, and used as a walkway with unique views over the four corners of Istria. All three parts of the town are connected by a system of internal and external fortifications with towers and city gates containing elements of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles, built between the 14th and 17th centuries. It is a typical example of Venetian colonial architecture.
Lend me your children to borrow
I just need to send them away
Long eyes and tears of sorrow
I promise I'll keep them safe
So sorry it didn't work out
You believed the liar in me
My God, my love, my life
My world, my loss, my rage
Agnostic for the greater good
When the good things seem to be few and far between
Conscious loss of conscience
Packed the body on ice just to keep it numb
No feeling
Blame some things on the past
Threw away everything that I had
Unraveling for the last time
Stepping out of my skin cast in armor
The hate in me, feeling so empty
The guilt I swallow
Carve the line, skin the face
Stare through me
We'll leave you hollow, hollow
Assembly of the militant
What are you in our game?
Eradicate the power's law
Hope's a thing of the past
[Incomprehensible]
The hammer falls
The hate in me, feeling so empty
The guilt I swallow
Carve the line, skin the face
Stare through me
We'll leave you hollow
Wounded, having a loss of feeling
So dead my heart, my life has been ruined
Lost in an instant, saw red in my eyes
The hate in me, so consuming
The lives we swallow
To the front line, mirror's engaged
Scope's on me and leaves me hollow
Harvest children, harvest children
Harvest children, harvest children
Harvest children
My God, my love, my life
