Moshing

Moshing or slamdancing is a style of dance where participants push or slam into each other, typically during a live music show. It is usually associated with “aggressive” music genres, such as hardcore punk and some styles of extreme metal, especially thrash metal, which borrowed the practice from hardcore punk. In the late 1980s, moshing crossed over into the mainstream and it was done at concerts by grunge bands and other styles. It is primarily done to live music, although it can be done to recorded music.

Variations of moshing exist, and can be done alone as well as in groups. Moshing usually happens in an area called the "pit" (sometimes called a "mosh pit") near the stage. It is intended to be energetic and full of body contact. Variations on the traditional mosh include "pogoing", "circle pits" (where the participants bump and jostle each other as they move in a circle) and the more extreme "wall of death". Some moshers swing their arms back and forth and move their legs in a rhythmic fashion. Moshing is typically done in an area in the center of the crowd, generally closer to the stage.

Pité

Luís Pedro de Freitas Pinto Trabulo (born 22 August 1994), known as Pité, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for FC Porto B as a midfielder.

Born in the town of Esgueira, Aveiro District, Pité joined local S.C. Beira-Mar's youth system in 2005, aged 11. He made his debut with the first team on 27 July 2013, playing the full 90 minutes in a 0–1 away loss against Portimonense SC for the season's Portuguese League Cup; his maiden appearance in the Segunda Liga took place on 12 August, in a 2–3 home defeat to FC Porto B.

Pité scored his first goal as a senior on 2 October 2013, helping to a 3–2 win at C.D. Santa Clara. He only missed seven games during the campaign, helping to a 12th-place finish amongst 22 teams.

On 1 July 2014, Pité signed for FC Porto, being assigned to the reserves also in the second division.

Kid Icarus (Japanese: 光神話 パルテナの鏡, Hepburn: Hikari Shinwa: Parutena no Kagami, lit. "Myth of Light: The Mirror of Palutena") is an action platform video game for the Family Computer Disk System in Japan and the Nintendo Entertainment System in Europe and North America. The first entry in Nintendo's Kid Icarus series, it was published in Japan in December 1986, and in Europe and North America in February and July 1987, respectively. It was later re-released for the Game Boy Advance in Japan during 2004, and for the Wii's Virtual Console online service in 2007. A sequel to this game was released for the Game Boy in 1991, and a third entry to the series was published for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console in March 2012.

The plot of Kid Icarus revolves around protagonist Pit's quest for three sacred treasures, which he must equip to rescue the Grecian fantasy world Angel Land and its ruler, the goddess Palutena. The player controls Pit through platform areas while fighting monsters and collecting items. Their objective is to reach the end of the levels, and to find and defeat boss monsters that guard the three treasures. The game was developed by Nintendo's Research and Development 1 division. It was designed by Toru Osawa and Yoshio Sakamoto, directed by Satoru Okada, and produced by Gunpei Yokoi.

Open outcry

Open outcry is the name of a method of communication between professionals on a stock exchange or futures exchange typically on a trading floor. It involves shouting and the use of hand signals to transfer information primarily about buy and sell orders. The part of the trading floor where this takes place is called a pit.

In an open outcry auction, bids and offers must be made out in the open market giving all participants a chance to compete for the order with the best price. New bids or offers would be made if better than previous pricing for efficient price discovery. Exchanges also value positions marked to these public market prices on a daily basis. In contrast, over-the-counter markets are where bids and offers are negotiated privately between principals.

Since the development of the stock exchange in 17th century in Amsterdam open outcry was the main method used to communicate between traders; however, this started changing in the later half of the 20th century. First through the use of telephone trading and then starting in the 1980s with electronic trading systems.

Mosh (model)

Mosh (born August 21, 1989 in Russia) is a Russian-American alternative model and burlesque performer. Called "one of the world's leading alternative and fetish models" by ModelMayhem.com, she has been on the cover of Bizarre Magazine a near-record seven times, as well as LA Weekly, OC Weekly, Girls and Corpses, DDI Mag, and numerous others. She has been featured on Playboy.com and Maxim en Espanol, and also stars in the music video for Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)."

Background

Mosh was born in what was then the Soviet Union, but moved to the United States with her family at the age of three. She trained in gymnastics for more than 10 years in school and was a cheerleader in high school for even longer, but injured her elbow in her first year as an acrobat. This limited her movement, and soon she began developing an interest in fetishwear, bondage, and pinup photography, ultimately guiding her to alternative and fetish modeling and burlesque.

Career

Mosh began building her modeling portfolio at the age of 17, networking on Modelmayhem.com to set up photo shoots with local photographers while juggling high school, a job and an internship. She learned how to do her own styling and makeup, partially out of necessity due to an inability to pay makeup artists, which led to the development of her self-styled signature look. After some years of modeling, Mosh began to combine her tease and fetish aesthetics with her gymnastic experience from her childhood, becoming a burlesque and fetish performer.

Charles "Chaz" Warrington (born May 28, 1971) is an American professional wrestler. He is currently performing under the ring name Mosh as one-half of the tag team The Headbangers along with Thrasher.

Warrington began training under Larry Sharpe and Glenn Ruth during the early 1990s. He would make several appearances in the World Wrestling Federation as an enhancement talent in 1993 (under the name Chaz Ware). In 1994, he teamed up with his co-trainer Glenn Ruth.

Warrington went on to form a tag team with Glenn Ruth in 1994. He and Ruth, working as the masked team "the Spiders" lost to Axel and Ian Rotten in ECW. Wrestling under a variety of names and gimmicks. First appearing as The Spiders in 1994 and then as The Flying Nuns, with Warrington as Mother Smucker and Ruth as Sister Angelica; debuting on the premiere broadcast of Shotgun Saturday Night along with Brother Love in 1997. Warrington and Ruth were best known as Mosh (Warrington) and Thrasher (Ruth), The Headbangers, a pair of metal fans who dressed in kilts. They wrestled in the WWF throughout the late-1990s, briefly holding the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1997 and the NWA Tag Team Championships in 1998.
