Morgan (bishop)

Morgan was a medieval Bishop-elect of Durham.

Morgan was an illegitimate son of King Henry II of England and Nesta, daughter of Iorwerth ab Owain, Lord of Caerleon. Nesta was married to Sir Ralph Bloet, who raised Morgan as his son. The date of his birth is unknown but presumed to be toward the end of King Henry's life.

Morgan was the provost of Beverley before being nominated to the see of Durham between 7 March and 7 May 1215. He was never consecrated because Pope Innocent III refused consecration on the grounds of his illegitimacy. Innocent offered to confirm the election and allow the episcopal consecration if Morgan would swear that he was the son of Nesta and her husband Ralph and not King Henry. Morgan, after deliberation, replied that it was unthinkable for him to deny his father the king.

After his accession to the throne of England, John, Morgan's half-brother, was known to be generous to the entire Bloet family.

Ah! My Goddess: The Movie (劇場版「ああっ女神さまっ」, Gekijōban "Aa! Megami-sama!") is a 2000 Japanese animated film directed by Hiroaki Gōda, written by Michiko Yokote and Yoshihiko Tomizawa, animated by Anime International Company and co-produced by Kodansha, Dentsu, Sega Enterprises, Pony Canyon, Nippon Shupan Hanbai, AIC, MOVIC and Shochiku, based on the manga of the same name by Kōsuke Fujishima. The film's theatrical release took place on October 21, 2000. It was also distributed by Shochiku in Japan. The film was licensed by Geneon Entertainment in the North America, MVM Films in the United Kingdom, and Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand.

Plot

The story takes place during the third spring since Belldandy's arrival. Celestin, a former mentor of Belldandy, is released by Morgan Le Fay, and erases all memories of Keiichi from Belldandy to use her as a virus to hack the Yggdrasil computer in the heavens.

Morgan le Fay heads to the Lunar Prison on the moon and releases the seal. She is able to make contact with a small mask that reveals that they must unite for their common goal.

Morgan's

Morgan's (formally Henry Morgan & Company) was a Montreal-based Canadian department store chain. At its peak, the company had stores in Quebec and Ontario. In its last years, the chain was known in Quebec as Morgan without the possessive.

Morgan's is the predecessor of The Bay department store chain in Quebec and Ontario.

History

The first Morgan's store was opened in Montreal in 1845 by Scottish immigrant Henry Morgan. The second store to operate under the Morgan's name opened in 1950 on Queen Mary Road in the Snowdon section of Montreal. Other stores then opened on the island of Montreal, and several Ontario cities.

Ownership of the store was originally split evenly between Mr. Morgan and his partner David Smith. Smith's portion was later purchased by Henry's brother, James Morgan. The store stayed in under the ownership and management of the original Morgan brothers and their descendents for over 100 years of business.

Morgan's was purchased in 1960 by Hudson's Bay Company.

In 1964, the stores in Ontario were converted into the new name The Bay. At that point, the Morgan's logo was replaced with a new logo with a similar design to the Bay's logo (shown above) for the Quebec stores still operating under the Morgan's name. The Quebec stores were converted in 1972. The Morgan's flagship store in downtown Montreal has been a Bay store since Morgan's was absorbed into The Bay. The Morgan locations in Montreal's shopping centres are also all in operation as Bay stores. Only the Queen Road Mary site has been shut down (in the early 1970s, right before the chain was renamed).
