Moresco is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Fermo in the Italian region Marche, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of Ancona and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northeast of Ascoli Piceno in the valley named Valdaso. As of 2011, it had a population of 606 and an area of 6.3 square kilometres (2.4 sq mi).
Moresco borders the following municipalities: Lapedona, Montefiore dell'Aso, Monterubbiano.
Moresco means literary "Moorish". According to legend, at the time of their raids along the Adriatic coast, a group of Moors went further into the interior in order to build a fortress in the heart of Christianity. Others, on the contrary, maintain that the Castrum Morisci was built near the sea to drive back the assaults of the Saracens. Most probably the place name comes either from a noble family named Mori, or from the word in dialect morrecine, which refers to the heap of stones on which the castle rests.

The name "Moresco" is an acronym for Misamis Oriental 1 Rural Electric Service COoperative, which was the company's original name up to present.
The Misamis Oriental 1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO-1) pioneered the country’s rural electrification program in 1968. The following year, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) was formed.
I've lived through things I cannot say
Back then we dreamt of yesterday
It seemed as if the only way
And now we look for hope and pray
(Chorus)
If I had a second chance
I'd make amends
Only to find myself
Losing in the end
If I had a second chance
I'd make amends
Only to find myself
Losing, losing
It came up from the deepest sea
God gave it life and reason to be
His Shadow rose above the highest tree
And still his face we could not see
(Chorus)
