The following is a list and description of the characters of Sherlock, a British television series that started airing on BBC One in July 2010. The series is a contemporary adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.
Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) describes himself initially as "a consulting detective, the only one in the world," helping out Scotland Yard when they are out of their depth with cases (usually homicides). He appears as a tall, thin man with dark, curly hair. Like the original character, Sherlock is able to deduce or abduce information from the small details.
Molly, Mollie or mollies may refer to:
Molly is a two-part Australian miniseries about music legend Molly Meldrum. Aired on the Seven Network, the first part premiered on 7 February 2016, with the second and final half screening on 14 February. It is based on Meldrum's biography, The Never, Um ... Ever Ending Story, which was written with journalist Jeff Jenkins.
Molly is based on the life of Ian "Molly" Meldrum, who became one of the most influential and powerful names in Australian music. The series follows the rise of Meldrum from small beginnings in Quambatook to becoming one of the biggest names in Australian music. Along with hosting the high-rating TV series Countdown, Meldrum's accessible personality and passion for music saw him become an essential figure of the Australian music scene in the 1970s, '80s and beyond.
"Molly (16 Candles Down the Drain)" is a song by American rock band Sponge, released in 1995 as the second single from their debut album Rotting Piñata. It also serves as the name of the band's greatest hits album, which was released in 2000. It was originally titled "Molly" on Rotting Piñata, but was elongated for its release as a single. It was ostensibly named after actress Molly Ringwald, who starred in Sixteen Candles. However, it was actually inspired by a story one of the band members heard about a girl who fell in love with one of her teachers shortly before her 16th birthday, who then attempted to commit suicide via an overdose of ecstasy after he rejected her, hence "16 candles down the drain." "Molly" is a more pure form of MDMA than street ecstasy.
To date, it is the band's only song to appear on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, having peaked at number 55 in August 1995. It is the band's highest-charting song on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, where it was a top three hit. The song also reached number 11 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
Hooper & Co. was a British coachbuilding company based in Westminster London. From 1805 to 1959 it was a notably successful maker, to special order, of luxury carriages both horse-drawn and motor-powered.
The company was founded as Adams and Hooper in 1805 and held a royal warrant from 1830, building elegant horse-drawn carriages, supplying them to King William IV, Queen Victoria and King Edward VII. They moved into motor bodies at the turn of the 20th century. The first royal car, a Hooper body on a Daimler chassis, was delivered to Sandringham on 28 March 1900. It was painted chocolate brown with red lines; a livery which continued for the royal family well into the twentieth century.
Hooper specialized in the very top tier of the market, building the most luxurious bodies possible without consideration of cost. The models were not sporty, as the company specialized in stately, elegant carriages. Coach customers included the Marquis of Londonderry and the Marquis of Crewe . Car body customers included the Kings of Spain, Norway, Portugal and Siam, the Shah of Persia and the Negus of Abyssinia. In 1911, Hooper built an extension onto their Kings Road works, due to increased customer demand. Their London showroom, opened 1896 (possibly earlier), was on the corner of St James' Street and Bennet Street. It included a vehicle lift so that coaches and cars could be displayed at first floor. The alterations are likely to have been overseen by Francis Hooper, architect, son of the then owner.
i'll take the lead
catch me if you can
one final look
we're never going back again
come on you can't miss
follow me and see
you're making this
harder than it has to be
it's in your eyes
i can't explain
not in disguise
but not the same
do i even know you anymore?
falling apart
this i can attest
but i know your heart continues beating in your chest
when to begin?
tomorrow, so you say
i wonder when tomorrow will become today
try to pretend there's nothing wrong
are you the friend i knew so long?
further delay
should i do some more?
what could i say
that i haven't said before?
if i could do
one thing, certainly
i'd inspire you
the way you once inspired me
consider this
the choice you make
before you bend so far you break
there's little left
of hope, i mean
