Mitchell Way
Mitchell Robert Thomas Way (born November 28, 1980 in Iowa City, Iowa) is a former American race car driver and current truck chief and front tire carrier for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Beginnings
Growing up in Bettendorf, Iowa, Way is a fourth generation driver who started his racing career on the dirt tracks of Iowa & Illinois; first competing in the dwarf series, modifieds and then late models. Winning the first race he ever entered at Davenport Speedway, he continued to win for years. Way won the dwarf car championship at Hawkeye Raceway near Blue Grass, Iowa in 2000 and qualified second the first time he entered the Dwarf Car Nationals. Way earned a reputation and had been dubbed "Mr. Excitement" after a night when he drove his car off the track three times and still came back to win.
NASCAR career
In January 2006 Way moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in NASCAR. He landed an entry level mechanic position & over-the-wall fueler at Xpress Motorsports in Mooresville, NC.
