Missy (actress)

Missy (September 24, 1967 – August 13, 2008) was an American pornographic actress.

Career

Missy began her career in the adult business in 1994, when appearing in amateur videos with her then-husband Mickey G.. She became a non-exclusive contract girl with Wicked Pictures by 1997.

Missy was the first adult actress to ever win the AVN Awards for Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year in the same year; the second actress to do it was Jenna Haze.

She left the porn industry in 2001, sending an open letter to AVN magazine detailing that she had found religion after suffering a "mental breakdown."

Death

In September 2008, AVN reported that Missy had died from an accidental prescription drug overdose over a month earlier in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California. The information of her death was deliberately withheld by her family as they did not want any of Missy's pornographic ex-colleagues to attend her funeral.

The Master (Doctor Who)

The Master is a recurring character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and its associated spin-off works. The character is a renegade alien Time Lord and the archenemy of the title character the Doctor.

The Master has been played by multiple actors since the character's introduction in 1971. Within the show, this is varyingly explained as the Master taking possession of other characters' bodies, or as a consequence of regeneration, a biological attribute allowing Time Lords to survive fatal injuries. The role was originated by Roger Delgado. Delgado portrayed the Master from 1971 until his death in 1973. From 1976 until the show's cancellation in 1989, the Master was portrayed by a succession of actors: Peter Pratt, Geoffrey Beevers and Anthony Ainley. Missy is a three-year-old black and white Holstein cow from Canada that sold for 1.2 million dollars at the Morsan Road to the Royal Sale in Uxbridge, Ontario on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. This purchase has made Missy the current most expensive cow in the world. She was the fifth cow in the world and the second in Canada to have been sold for over 1 million dollars. Her prior owner and breeder Bloyce Thompson of Eastside Holsteins stated that "She's the most valuable young cow in the world right now [and] is one of the top show cows in North America". She was also the Grand Champion of the 2009 Western Fall National Show.

In 2011, Missy was named Supreme Grand Champion Of All Breeds at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin.

Listed as Lot #1 she was sold to a Denmark buyer. Her genetic material will now be used to help improve the breeding of the Holstein breed.

Gender

Gender is the range of characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity and femininity. Depending on the context, these characteristics may include biological sex (i.e. the state of being male, female or intersex), sex-based social structures (including gender roles and other social roles), or gender identity.

Sexologist John Money introduced the terminological distinction between biological sex and gender as a role in 1955. Before his work, it was uncommon to use the word gender to refer to anything but grammatical categories. However, Money's meaning of the word did not become widespread until the 1970s, when feminist theory embraced the concept of a distinction between biological sex and the social construct of gender. Synopsis

Actress is a documentary about Brandy Burre, most known for her recurring role as Theresa D’Agostino on HBO’s The Wire as she attempts to return to her acting career after abandoning it to concentrate on raising a family.

Set in suburban Beacon, NY, Burre struggles with duties and relationships in her domestic life. During the film, she pursues re-entering her former profession by meeting old contacts in the industry and rebuilding herself while juggling motherhood and her personal life.

Actress has been recognized for its use of poetic, more directed techniques and mise-en-scene, a tactic that is something of an anomaly in documentaries. Poetic aspects were used mostly to represent Burre’s crumbling emotional state. Greene has said that there was a performance to all of Burre’s behavior. His use of “composed indie-film moments,” seen in the consciously lit, stage-like opening scene, slow motion shots, and collaboration with Burre, allowed her to become more than just a subject. This enabled the actress to, “explore her own authenticity,” in a way that became a very cathartic experience for her. Seeing her dismantling personal life told in present tense, Burre performs in roles as a mother and caregiver, as well as an actress pursuing a career, and a woman in romantic turmoil with her longtime partner and father of her children.
