Miss Universe 2015, the 64th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, was held on 20 December 2015 at the The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.Paulina Vega of Colombia crowned her successor Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed for the 2015 title.
This was the first edition of the Miss Universe pageant to be held under the ownership of WME/IMG, which purchased the Miss Universe Organization from Donald Trump on September 14, 2015, three days after NBCUniversal sold him its 50% interest in the organization in exchange for Trump's dropping a breach of contract lawsuit he filed against the media company in August for terminating NBC's contract to televise the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants. Consequently, it is also the first Miss Universe event to be aired by Fox and Azteca, which replaced NBC and UniMás (the respective parents of both networks, NBCUniversal and Univision Communications, terminated their rights to the pageant as a result of Trump's incendiary statements against Mexican immigrants during his speech announcing his candidacy for the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States on June 16) as the pageant's respective English and Spanish broadcasters.
Miss Universe 2012, the 61st Miss Universe pageant, was held on 19 December 2012 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Leila Lopes of Angola crowned her successor Olivia Culpo of the USA. 89 contestants competed in this year.

Canada – Sahar Biniaz was replaced by Adwoa Yamoah, the 1st runner-up of Miss Universe Canada 2012 because the original winner, Sahar, had to withdraw due to a foot injury.
Cyprus – Ntaniella Kefala was replaced by Ioánna Yiannakoú the 2nd runner-up of Star Cyprus 2012 for undisclosed reasons.
Dominican Republic – Carola Durán was dethroned after reports surfaced of a previous marriage in 2009. She was replaced by Dulcita Lynn Lieggi the 1st runner-up of Miss Republica Dominicana 2012.
Miss Universe 1958, the 7th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 26 July 1958 in Long Beach, California, USA. 36 contestants competed where finally, Miss Colombia, 19-year-old Luz Marina Zuluaga won the competition, becoming the first country to win the pageant in their first participation in Miss Universe (with the same instance that happen in 1999), and was crowned by Gladys Zender of Peru.
Upon arriving, Miss Costa Rica informed pageant organizers that she was below the required age of 18 as she was 17 at the time of the pageant. She was disqualified. However, because of her honesty, she was allowed to participate in all of the events without being judged.
