Minova is a town and refugee area[1] in northern South Kivu Province,[2]

Since 1994 Minova has grown from a village to a large town, primarily due to the influx of refugees from the fighting associated with the First and Second Congo wars, and following[1][3][4][5] As of 2012 Minova has grown to incorporate the former village of Butando to the northwest.[6]
