Miloš

Miloš (Serbian Cyrillic: Милош, pronounced [mîloʃ]) (Czech pronunciation: [ˈmɪloʃ]) is a Slavic masculine given name common in Serbia and Montenegro, and to a lesser degree in the Czech Republic. In Polish, the name is spelled Miłosz. Miloš is a Slavic given name recorded from the early Middle Ages among the Bulgarians, Czechs, Poles, Montenegrins and Serbs. It is derived from the Slavic root mil-, "merciful" or "dear", which is found in a great number of Slavic given names.

Milo Ö

Milo Ö (Swedish: Östra militärområdet, Eastern Military Area) was a Swedish military area, a command of the Swedish Armed Forces that had operational control over Eastern Sweden, for most time of its existence corresponding to the area covered by the counties of Östergötland, Södermanland, Stockholm, Uppsala and Västmanland. The headquarters of Milo Ö were located in Strängnäs.

History

Milo Ö was created in 1966 along with five other military areas as part of a reorganisation of the administrative divisions of the Swedish Armed Forces. It can be seen as the successor of IV. militärområdet (IV. Military Area) created in 1942, but that did not have the same tasks as Milo Ö. The military area consisted of the land covered by the above-mentioned counties, and from the creation to 1982, also the southern part of Gävleborg County. In 1991, the number of military areas of Sweden was decreased to five, and as a consequence of that, Milo Ö was merged with Milo B to create a new military area, Milo M.

Commercial sorghum

Commercial sorghum refers to the cultivation and commercial exploitation of species of grasses within the genus Sorghum (often S. bicolor). These plants are used for grain, fibre and fodder. Sorghum grows in harsh environments where other crops do not grow well, just like other staple foods, such as cassava, that are common in impoverished regions of the world. It is usually grown without application of any fertilizers or other inputs by a multitude of small-holder farmers in many countries.

Milo (bishop of Trier)

Milo of Trier (d. 762 or 763) was the son of St. Leudwinus and was his successor as Archbishop of Trier and Archbishop of Reims. His great-uncle St. Basinus had preceded his father as Trier. He is the great-grandson of Saint Sigrada and Saint Leodegarius is his great uncle.

Early life

Milo was the son of the Leudwinus of Trier and Willigard of Bavaria. He was born a nobleman and later styled Count of Trier.

His brother was Wido (Gui), Count of Hornbach.Chrotrude, Duchess of Austrasia (Rotrude), was apparently his sister.

He received a monastic education as was the custom for Medieval noblemen and Milo became an ordained Benedictine monk. Prior to his ecclesiastical career, Milo also had a military career, something he had in common with his brother-in-law Charles Martel.

As the scion of one of the most powerful Frankish clans in Austrasia, Milo's future seemed secure. He succeeded his father as Archbishop of Trier become the third generation of his family to hold this position.

Milo (video game)

MILO is a first-person adventure-puzzle computer game that challenges the player to solve 14 puzzles based in the world of MILO, an artificially intelligent computer. The game was developed by Crystalvision Software and released in 1996. Released in the wake of such titles as Myst and Pandora's Box,MILO was billed as a multimedia game and as an early example of 3D gaming. The 16-track ambient soundtrack is composed by noted progressive rock musician, Warren Dale.

Plot

The player is placed in the abandoned planet of an ancient and highly advanced civilization. This civilization had discovered the Keys to the Gateway of the Universe and as a consequence they had abruptly left their planet in a state of enlightenment to travel and search the far corners of the universe for even greater mysteries. The one thing this civilization left behind was MILO - the sentient artificial intelligence designed to act as caretaker for their planet while they were gone and guard for the Keys to the Gateway.
