Miller City, Ohio

Miller City is a village in Putnam County, Ohio, United States. The population was 137 at the 2010 census.

History

Miller City was originally called St. Nicholas, and under the latter name was platted in 1882 by Nicholas Miller, and named for him. A post office called Miller City has been in operation since 1883. Miller City was incorporated as a village in 1890.

Geography

Miller City is located at 41°6′9″N 84°7′54″W / 41.10250°N 84.13167°W / 41.10250; -84.13167 (41.102482, -84.131753).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.30 square miles (0.78 km²), all land.

Demographics

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 137 people, 61 households, and 41 families residing in the village. The population density was 456.7 inhabitants per square mile (176.3/km²). There were 66 housing units at an average density of 220.0 per square mile (84.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White.

There were 61 households of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 32.8% were non-families. 27.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.78.
