Hamilton County is a county located in the southwest corner of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 802,374. making it the third-most populous county in Ohio. The county seat is Cincinnati. The county is named for the first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton.

Hamilton County is part of the Cincinnati-Middletown, OH-KY-IN Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Most of Hamilton County was originally owned and surveyed by John Cleves Symmes, and the region was a part of the Symmes Purchase. The first European-American settlers rafted down the Ohio River in 1788 following the American Revolutionary War. They established the towns of Losantiville (later Cincinnati) and Cleves.

Hamilton County was organized in 1790, as the second county in the Northwest Territory. Its area then included about one-eighth of Ohio, and had about 2,000 inhabitants (not including the remaining Native Americans). The United States persuaded most of the Shawnee and other Indian peoples to remove in the 1820s to locations west of the Mississippi River.

Mill Creek Township, Hamilton County, Ohio

Mill Creek Township (or Millcreek Township) is a former township of south central Hamilton County, Ohio that was largely absorbed in the late Nineteenth century by the annexation of suburban villages and outlying settlements by the City of Cincinnati. It extended north from the Ohio River along both banks of the Mill Creek after which it was named. As the original site of Fort Washington and the settlement of Cincinnati, references to it are frequently encountered by genealogists.

The township's territory was encompassed within the Symmes Purchase, included the location of the original settlement of Cincinnati in 1787, as well as the core of Cincinnati's business district and many of its neighborhoods. All territory in the Cincinnati city limits is considered to be in Millcreek Township though the township does not exist as a civil jurisdiction.

Urbanization has been such that the township has been entirely incorporated into the cities of Cincinnati, St. Bernard, and Elmwood Place. It remains only as a survey township, or paper township, since all functions of local government were absorbed by the nearby municipalities in the late 1940s and 1950s.

Ohio (Stalley album)

Ohio is the debut studio album by American rapper Stalley. The album was released on October 27, 2014, by Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records. The album features guest appearances from Nipsey Hussle, Rick Ross, August Alsina, Ty Dolla Sign, Rashad and De La Soul. The album was supported by the singles "Always Into Something", "Jackin' Chevys" and "One More Shot".

Background

In July 2012, Stalley announced he had begun recording his debut album, saying: "We're workin' on an album right now. I'm in the studio. I just got in there about a week ago, so it's a whole big process. Right now, I'm thinking maybe top of the year would be the album. I definitely just take [Rick Ross and Wale's] energy, and I definitely watch their energy and watch how they do things. I'm very observant of how they set up their albums and set up their singles and things like that, being that it's all new to me. That's great company to keep and great people to watch."

On August 22, 2014, he announced the album would be titled Ohio in a vlog, saying: "The sound of my current music is intelligent truck music. It’s a sound that’s built for the cars. But you can also enjoy it in your headphones, your computer or however you want to listen to it. Me, growing up, I rode around listening to music. It was kind of like the soundtrack my days or wherever I was going."

Ohio (Over the Rhine album)

Ohio is a double studio album, their seventh overall, by Over the Rhine, released in 2003. The album was released as both a double CD and limited edition double vinyl LP set.

One additional song from these sessions, "Last Night On Earth Again" was released on the Discount Fireworks compilation, albeit in a re-recorded version.
