Titan (game)

Titan is a fantasy board game for two to six players, designed by Jason B. McAllister and David A. Trampier. It was first published in 1980 by Gorgonstar, a small company created by the designers. Soon afterward, the rights were licensed to Avalon Hill, which made several minor revisions and published the game for many years. Titan went out of print in 1998, when Avalon Hill was sold and ceased operations. A new edition of Titan, with artwork by Kurt Miller and Mike Doyle and produced by Canadian publisher Valley Games became available in late 2008. The Valley Games edition was adapted to the Apple iPad and released on December 21, 2011.

Each player controls an army of mythological creatures such as gargoyles, unicorns, and griffons, led by a single titan. The titan is analogous to the king in chess in that the death of a titan eliminates that player and his entire army from the game. The player controlling the last remaining titan wins the game.

Gameplay

The main game board consists of 96 interlocking hexes, each with a specified terrain type.

Titan (Bova novel)

Titan is a science fiction novel written by Ben Bova as part of the Grand Tour novel series. It directly follows the novel Saturn, in which the space habitat Goddard has finished its two-year journey from Earth, and has settled into the orbit of Saturn. The book won the 2007 John W. Campbell Memorial Award.

Plot

The ten thousand civilians of the space habitat Goddard have now finally begun their lives in the Saturn system, after an exhausting two-year journey that almost plunged the infant colony into an authoritative regime. As the probe "Titan Alpha" lands on the moon's surface, a number of strange electrical problems begin happening aboard the space habitat.

Titan V is a steel roller coaster at Space World in Yahata Higashi ward, Kitakyushu, Japan.

State (MBTA station)

State, well known as State Street, is a subway station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, State is the transfer point between the Orange Line and the Blue Line, as one of the quartet of "hub stations" on the MBTA subway system.

What later became the Blue Line platforms of State station were opened in 1904, making it the oldest surviving MBTA rapid transit (heavy rail) station. (The Tremont Street Subway, opened in 1897, serves only Green Line (light rail) streetcars). After an extensive renovation which was completed in 2011, State is fully handicapped accessible.

History

East Boston Tunnel

The Blue Line section of the station was built along with the rest of the East Boston Tunnel in the first years of the 20th century and opened on December 30, 1904, serving streetcars running from downtown to East Boston. An unusual aspect of State Street station is the entrance built directly into one of Boston's best-known historic sites, the Old Massachusetts State House. This entrance often confuses first-time tourists and visitors with its unconventional location. The East Boston Tunnel station was originally known as Devonshire after the street which the Old State House is located on. The station is the only remaining station on the tunnel opened in 1904.

Milk (English band)

Milk is a rock band from London. The musical style of the band has been likened to post rock and shoegaze. The band's use of noise and electronic elements has also been noted.

History

Milk was formed in early 2008 with Claire Robbin, Adam Stark and Tom Barton. James Whyard later replaced Barton on bass.

The band released a self-titled EP in 2009. Rock Sound magazine reviewed the EP in 2010, saying "there's no doubting this band's musical chops" and giving it 8/10. The band has been featured in the Bands to Watch series of The Blue Walrus and received reviews in Organ (magazine). The band has also received airplay of a track from the EP, 20th Century Lights, on commercial radio station Xfm.

The band will shortly be supporting The Klaxons.

Jeff Tremaine

Jeffery James "Jeff" Tremaine (born September 4, 1966) is an American film director, film producer, television director, and television producer.

Tremaine is the former editor of Big Brother and a former art director of the influential BMX magazine GO as well as a former professional BMX rider. Jeff was the executive producer on the MTV reality series Rob and Big and now works as the executive producer of Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness, Nitro Circus, and Adult Swim's Loiter Squad.

In 2009, it was announced that Tremaine would be directing the second sequel to Jackass, titled Jackass 3D. It was filmed in 3D starting in January 2010. The whole cast of the previous movies returned.

In January 2014, it was announced that Tremaine would be directing the Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt. Tremaine then made a public appearance at the band's final tour press conference on January 28, 2014 confirming and also speaking on the film expressing his excitement. One year later, Focus Features announced that they had picked up the film, keeping Tremaine on to continue with directing. In 2015, Tremaine directed and hosted the WWE Network series, WWE Swerved. In July 2015, Tremaine directed Angry Skies, a 30 for 30 film, for ESPN.
