Mike Montgomery

Michael John Montgomery (born February 27, 1947) is a retired American college basketball coach. He was the men's basketball coach at Stanford from 1986 to 2004 and at the University of Montana for eight seasons prior to coaching at Stanford. Most recently, he was the coach at California for six seasons. He also coached the Golden State Warriors of the NBA from 2004 to 2006.

College coaching career

Montgomery compiled a 547–244 (.692) overall record in 18 years at Stanford (1986–2004) and eight seasons at the University of Montana (1978–1986). He boasts 25 winning seasons in his 26 years as a head coach at both Stanford and Montana. Montgomery's Stanford teams reached the NCAA tournament ten straight times from 1995 to 2004. Stanford reached the Final Four under Montgomery in 1998, the school's first Final Four appearance in 56 years. He made his third appearance along the USA Basketball sidelines in 2002 when he was named an assistant under George Karl for the US national team in the 2002 FIBA World Championship.

Mike Montgomery (baseball)

Michael Paul Montgomery (born July 1, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). Montgomery was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft.

Professional career

Kansas City Royals

Montgomery was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the first round, with the 36th selection, of the 2008 MLB Draft out of William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California. He rated the Royals sixth-best prospect by MLB.com. In 2012 he posted a combined record of 5-12 in 27 starts while splitting the season between the Royals' Double A and Triple A clubs. On November 20, 2012 the Royals added Montgomery to the 40-man roster in anticipation of the upcoming Rule 5 Draft of Minor League players.

Tampa Bay Rays

On December 9, 2012, Montgomery was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays (along with Jake Odorizzi, Patrick Leonard and Wil Myers) in exchange for James Shields and Wade Davis. He was optioned to AAA on March 11, 2013.

Mike Montgomery (ice hockey)

Mike Montgomery (born October 10, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Montgomery played four years (2007-2011) of NCAA college hockey with the Minnesota–Duluth Bulldogs men's ice hockey. In his senior year he captained the Bulldogs team which won the 2011 NCAA Championship.

On October 12, 2011, Montgomery signed with the Ontario Reign of the ECHL to begin his professional career.

James Michael Montgomery (born July 10, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas) is a former professional American football running back in the National Football League. He was a 3rd round selection (65th overall pick) out of Kansas State by the San Diego Chargers in the 1971 NFL Draft. He played four seasons for the Chargers (1971), the Dallas Cowboys (1972–1973), and the Houston Oilers (1974).

Montgomery was one of the players (along with wide receiver Billy Parks) acquired by the Dallas Cowboys in the August 1, 1972 trade that sent running back Duane Thomas to the San Diego Chargers. In 1974, the Cowboys traded him to the Houston Oilers for a fourth round draft choice, that the team used to select Pat Donovan.
