Michael Ola

Michael Ola (born April 19, 1988) is an American football offensive tackle for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Hampton University and attended Riverdale High School in Riverdale, Georgia. He has also been a member of the Jacksonville Sharks, Montreal Alouettes, Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears.

Professional career

Jacksonville Sharks

Ola was signed by the Jacksonville Sharks on March 3, 2012. He was released on June 11, 2012.

Montreal Alouettes

Ola signed with the Montreal Alouettes on June 10, 2012. He played for the Alouettes during the 2012 and 2013 CFL seasons.

Miami Dolphins

Ola was signed to a futures contract by the Miami Dolphins on February 7, 2014. He was released by the Dolphins on May 25, 2014.

Chicago Bears

Ola signed with the Chicago Bears on May 28, 2014. He made his NFL debut on September 7 against the Buffalo Bills, and made his first career start the following week against the San Francisco 49ers, replacing the injured Matt Slauson. In the 2014 season, he started at four of the five offensive line positions. Ola was released by the Bears on September 5, 2015.

Ola (album)

Ola is the third album released by Swedish pop singer Ola.

The self-titled album Ola was released in Sweden in September 2010, and debuted at #3 in the official Swedish album chart. It is the first release on Ola's own label Oliniho Records, after buying himself out of his deal with Universal Music. It spawned three hit singles, "Unstoppable", "Overdrive" and "All Over The World", which was Ola's first international single release. The similarity between "All Over The World" and "Somebody To Love" by Justin Bieber is often noted, but believed to be coincidence, as the two were released at the same time.

The album also contained a track, "Let It Hit You", composed by Ola with regular collaborator Alexander Kronlund and British artist Labrinth.

Secret Service (band)

Secret Service is a Swedish new wave/pop band, popular in the early 1980s. In 1979, Ola Håkansson, former vocalist of Ola & the Janglers and then a publishing manager at Sonet Records, teamed up with Tim Norell and Ulf Wahlberg as Ola+3 to write a few songs that they submitted to the 1979 Melodifestivalen, a popular contest which is the Swedish qualification to the Eurovision Song Contest. Ola+3 did not win but the members decided to continue working together and changed their band's name to Secret Service. Besides Ola Håkansson (vocals), Tim Norell and Ulf Wahlberg (keyboards), the original lineup also included Tony Lindberg (guitars), Leif Paulsen (bass) and Leif Johansson (drums).

Norell, who penned along with Håkansson most songs of the band, did not however appear with them on stage or on the album covers. Secret Service's first single "Oh Susie" became a hit in Sweden and several other countries in Europe, in South America and Australia. Their album of the same title included another hit, "Ten O'Clock Postman", which went gold in Sweden. Other successes followed, with their synthpop number "Flash in the Night" in 1982 (their greatest success) hitting charts all over continental Europe. In the mid-'80s, Norell and Håkansson started writing and producing songs for other artists. Ola Håkansson's duet with ex-ABBA's Agnetha Fältskog, "The Way You Are", became a gold single in Sweden.

Michael is the first posthumous (and eleventh overall) album of previously unreleased tracks and seventh under Epic Records by American singer Michael Jackson. It was released on December 10, 2010 by Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment.Michael was the first release of all new Michael Jackson material in nine years since Invincible in 2001. Production of the album was handled by several producers such as Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley, Theron "Neff-U" Feemster, C. "Tricky" Stewart, Eddie Cascio, among others and features guest performances by Akon, 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz. Michael is the seventh Jackson album to be released by Sony and Motown/Universal since Jackson's death in June 2009.

The album produced four singles: "Hold My Hand", released on November 15, 2010, which reached number 39 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, "Hollywood Tonight", released on February 11, 2011, and "Behind the Mask" released on February 21, 2011. The music video for "Hold My Hand" was directed by Mark Pellington, and had its worldwide debut on December 9, 2010. The music video for "Hollywood Tonight" was directed by Wayne Isham, who also directed the video for Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone" in 1995 at one of the very same locations where he filmed it—the Pantages Theatre near the famed corner of Hollywood and Vine. The video had its worldwide debut on March 10, 2011. "(I Like) The Way You Love Me" was released in South Korea as a digital single on January 18, 2011, and released to Italian and Chinese radio stations in July 2011.

Michael Row the Boat Ashore

"Michael, Row the Boat Ashore" (or "Michael Rowed the Boat Ashore" or "Michael, Row Your Boat Ashore" or "Michael Row That Gospel Boat") is a negro spiritual. It was first noted during the American Civil War at St. Helena Island, one of the Sea Islands of South Carolina. It is cataloged as Roud Folk Song Index No. 11975.

It was sung by former slaves whose owners had abandoned the island before the Union navy arrived to enforce a blockade. Charles Pickard Ware, an abolitionist and Harvard graduate who had come to supervise the plantations on St. Helena Island from 1862 to 1865, wrote the song down in music notation as he heard the freedmen sing it. Ware's cousin, William Francis Allen, reported in 1863 that while he rode in a boat across Station Creek, the former slaves sang the song as they rowed.

The song was first published in Slave Songs of the United States, by Allen, Ware, and Lucy McKim Garrison, in 1867.
