Michael Meredith

Michael Shane Meredith (born September 22, 1967; Dallas, Texas) is an American independent film director, screenwriter and producer. He frequently collaborates with German director Wim Wenders. Meredith is the son of the late former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and football commentator Don Meredith. He was the oldest of two children from Don Meredith's second marriage to the artist Cheryl King.

Career

Meredith's first feature film was Three Days of Rain with Peter Falk, Blythe Danner, Lyle Lovett and Jason Patric. Wim Wenders was the executive producer.

In 2006, Meredith wrote the screenplay for Wenders' Land of Plenty, which earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Michelle Williams.

Meredith wrote and directed The Open Road, starring Jeff Bridges, Justin Timberlake, Kate Mara, and Mary Steenburgen. Lyle Lovett and Harry Dean Stanton are also among the cast. Wenders was executive producer and Charlie Sexton did the score for the film.

Since 2013, Meredith has been working a documentary feature, "Return To Timbuktu" about musicians from the Festival au Désert in Mali.

Michael Meredith (born 1971) is an American Architect, Principal and Co-founder of award winning architecture firm MOS Architects in New York City.

Education

Meredith received a Master of Architecture with distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Design (2000) and a Bachelor in Architecture from Syracuse University (1994).

Professional life

With partner Hilary Sample, they founded MOS Architects in 2003. Meredith and Sample teach at Princeton University and Columbia University, respectively, and their academic research occurs in parallel to the real-world constraints and contingencies of practice, informing both. Recent projects include four studio buildings for the Krabbesholm Højskole campus, the Museum of Outdoor Arts Element House visitor center, the Floating House on Lake Huron, and the Lali Gurans Orphanage and Learning Center in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Awards

MOS has been honored with numerous awards including: The Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum’s National Design Award in Architecture in 2015, a 2014 Holcim Award, an Academy Award for Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Architectural League’s 2008 Emerging Voices Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town grant and the P/A Award from Architect magazine.

Michael Lee Meredith (born April 25, 1985) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives representing District 19 since January 4, 2011.

Education

Meredith earned his BS in business management from Western Kentucky University.
