The 2003 NASDAQ-100 Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 19th edition of the Miami Masters and was part of the Tennis Masters Series of the 2003 ATP Tour and of Tier I of the 2003 WTA Tour. Both the men's and women's events took place at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Florida in the United States from March 17 through March 30, 2003.

2004 NASDAQ-100 Open

The 2004 NASDAQ-100 Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 20th edition of the Miami Masters and was part of the Masters Series of the 2004 ATP Tour and of Tier I of the 2004 WTA Tour. Both the men's and women's events took place at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Florida in the United States from March 24 through April 4, 2004.

The men's tournament was notable as it featured the first ever meeting between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, with Nadal winning in straight sets.

Miami Open (tennis)

The Miami Open is an annual tennis tournament for men and women held in Miami, Florida. It is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour, played on hard courts at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park. The tournament is held in March each year. It is owned by IMG.

The tournament has had multiple sponsorships in its history. It was initially known as the Lipton International Players Championships and was a premier event of the Grand Prix Tennis Tour from 1985 until 1990 as part of the Grand Prix Super Series. In 2000, the event was renamed the Ericsson Open. In 2002, the event became known as the NASDAQ-100 Open. In 2007, the tournament was renamed the Sony Ericsson Open, in a deal by which the company would pay $20 million over the next four years, until 2014. From 2015–2019, the international bank Itaú became the presenting sponsor, making the official name of the tournament Miami Open presented by Itaú.

In 2010, a record 300,000 visitors attended matches at the 12-day Sony Ericsson Open, making it one of the largest tennis tournaments outside the four Majors. In 2011, 316,267 visitors attended the Open.

Miami station (Amtrak)

Miami is a train station in Miami-Dade County, Florida, on the border of Miami and Hialeah. It serves Amtrak, the national passenger rail service of the United States, and is the southern end of the Silver Meteor and Silver Star trains. It is scheduled to be replaced by Miami Central Station in summer 2016.

The Miami station was built on the site of the former Seaboard Air Line Railroad southern coach yards, to which Amtrak moved in 1977 when it abandoned the original Seaboard station at 2210 NW 7th Avenue in Allapattah, two miles north of downtown. Constructed in 1978, the building is one of many built under Amtrak's Standard Stations Program, an attempt to create a unified brand and identity for the company's passenger facilities in its early years. It is considered a Type 300A station, meaning it was designed to accommodate at least 300 passengers at the busiest hour of the day. Within the Amtrak system, it is similar to the station in Minneapolis-St. Paul, also built in 1978.

Miami (soil)

The Miami soil series is the state soil of Indiana.

The less sloping Miami soils are used mainly for corn, soybeans, or winter wheat. The steeper areas are used as pasture, hayland, or woodland. Significant area has been converted to residential and commercial uses. There are 794,994 acres (3,217 km²) of Miami soils mapped in Indiana.

Miami soils formed in calcareous, loamy till on the Wisconsin Till Plains. The native vegetation is hardwood forest. Miami soils are fertile and have a moderate available water capacity. Indiana is nationally ranked for agricultural production because of the highly productive Miami soils along with other prime farmland soils in the State.

The Miami series consists of moderately well drained soils formed in as much as 18 inches (46 cm) of loess or silty material and in the underlying loamy till on till plains. They are very deep soils that are moderately deep to dense till. Permeability is moderate or moderately slow in the solum, and slow or very slow in the underlying dense till. Slope ranges from 0 to 60%. Mean annual precipitation is 40 inches (1000 mm), and mean annual temperature is 52 °F (11 °C).

Miami is a lost 1924 American silent society melodrama film directed by Alan Crosland and distributed by W. W. Hodkinson. The film stars Betty Compson and Hedda Hopper.
