Metal Max 2

Metal Max 2 (メタルマックス2) is the second entry in the Metal Max series. It was a vehicle combat RPG published by Data East for the Super Famicom in 1993. Ten years later, the game was ported to the Game Boy Advance by Now Production under the title Metal Max 2 Kai. On December 8, 2011, a remake in the vein of Metal Max 3 was released for the Nintendo DS and titled Metal Max 2 ReLOADED.

Gameplay

Much of the gameplay is similar to its predecessor, Metal Max. The game is open-ended and non-linear, with the player given the freedom to decide where to go and what missions to do in whichever order. The player can choose the character classes, such as a mechanic or soldier, for the player characters. The battles are turn-based, with the characters able to fight either on foot or using tanks. The tanks can be created and customized by the player, who can modify and enhance each part of a vehicle, though there is a weight limit to each tank. In certain areas where tanks cannot pass, the characters must engage the enemies on foot. The game also features gambling machines where minigames can be played, including third-person shooter and racing games.

Metal Max (series)

Metal Max (メタルマックス, Metaru Makkusu) is a series of post-apocalyptic, vehicle combat, role-playing video games dating back to 1991. The series was created by Japanese video game designer Hiroshi Miyaoka with his company Crea-Tech, and originally published by Data East. Due to the bankruptcy of Data East and trademark problems, some titles were released by Success co. under the title Metal Saga (メタルサーガ, Metaru Sāga). Since the trademark issue was resolved by Enterbrain, the series has been released under the title Metal Max again.

There have been four Metal Max games and four Metal Saga games, in addition to remakes of several Metal Max titles. Notable installments in the series released for NES, Super NES, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS; the series has had mobile and browser releases as well. Most titles only saw release in Japan, the first Metal Saga being the only console title that was localized for English markets. Some related manga and soundtracks were also released. The most recent entry to the series was the 2013 Nintendo 3DS game, Metal Max 4: Gekkō no Diva.

Metal Max 3

Metal Max 3 (メタルマックス3, Metaru Makkusu Surī) is the seventh entry in the Metal Max series (besides Metal Saga series). It is a vehicle combat RPG produced by Cattle Call and co-published by Kadokawa Games, Enterbrain, and Crea-Tech for the Nintendo DS exclusively in Japan in 2010.

In 1993, Metal Max 2 was published by Data East, who retained the trademark rights to series until its closure in 2003 and the liquidation of its intellectual properties in 2004. In April 2009, Enterbrain (Kadokawa's subsidiary) obtained the rights and published Metal Max 3 the next year. It is the first numbered entry in the series in 17 years. A remade version in DS of Metal Max 2 was published in 2011, and used Metal Max 3's engine.

Similar with its predecessors, the game is open-ended and non-linear.

Metal Max 4: Gekkō no Diva

Metal Max 4: Gekkō no Diva (メタルマックス4 月光のディーヴァ, Metaru Makkusu Fō Gekkō no Dīva, lit. "Metal Max 4: Moonlight Diva") is a Japanese role-playing video game published by Kadokawa Games for Nintendo 3DS on 7 November 2013. The game was developed by Cattle Call and 24 Frame. Animation produced by Studio 4°C. Famitsu awarded game a 35/40.

Synopsis

The story took place 50 years after the destruction of human civilizations by mad supercomputer Noah. The protagonist (default name "Hinata") is a young boy who is living peacefully with his sister Sasha and foster father Gib in desert islands. One day, a group of mysterious army attacked their island. The protagonist and Sasha escaped but Gib get abducted.

Sasha tells the protagonist that Gib and him were "Hot Seeds". The project of sealing human survivors in hibernation chambers since 50 years ago, in order to preserve mankind and restore the human civilization after the "Great Destruction". And also, Sasha is an android which programmed to protect Gib and the protagonist.
