Mersey St Mary's

Mersey St. Mary's was an electoral ward of Trafford covering the eastern part of Ashton upon Mersey in Sale, Greater Manchester.

The ward was abolished in 2004, and its area split between the new Ashton upon Mersey and St. Mary's wards.

    St. Marys Street is a surface stop on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's light rail Green Line "C" Branch, located just west of the intersection of Beacon Street and Park Drive in the northeastern tip of Brookline, Massachusetts. Like all surface stops on the line, St Marys Street consists of two side platforms serving two tracks. The station is fully handicapped accessible.

    With almost 2000 daily boardings, St. Marys Street is the second-busiest stop on the "C" Branch, behind only Washington Square.

    History and operations

    St. Marys Street is the first outbound surface stop on the "C" Branch. The line emerges from the Beacon Street tunnel at St. Marys Street portal, just east of the station. Until Kenmore was built in 1932, streetcars emerged from the Kenmore portal and ran down the median of Beacon Street from Kenmore Square.

    St. Marys Street became fully handicapped accessible after work done under the Light Rail Accessibility Program in 2002.

    St Mary's (ward)

    St. Mary's is an electoral ward of Trafford covering most of the southern half of Ashton upon Mersey in Sale. The population of the Trafford Ward taken at the 2011 census was 11,775.

    The ward was created in 2004 largely from parts of the old Mersey St. Mary's and St. Martin's wards.
