Memory

In psychology, memory is the process in which information is encoded, stored, and retrieved. Encoding allows information from the outside world to be sensed in the form of chemical and physical stimuli. In the first stage the information must be changed so that it may be put into the encoding process. Storage is the second memory stage or process. This entails that information is maintained over short periods of time. Finally the third process is the retrieval of information that has been stored. Such information must be located and returned to the consciousness. Some retrieval attempts may be effortless due to the type of information, and other attempts to remember stored information may be more demanding for various reasons.

From an information processing perspective there are three main stages in the formation and retrieval of memory:

Memories (1995 film)

Memories (also Otomo Katsuhiro's Memories) is a 1995 Japanese animated science fiction anthology film with Katsuhiro Otomo as executive producer, and based on three of his manga short stories. The film is composed of three shorts: "Magnetic Rose" (彼女の想いで, Kanojo no Omoide), directed by Studio 4°C co-founder Kōji Morimoto and written by Satoshi Kon; "Stink Bomb" (最臭兵器, Saishū-heiki), directed by Tensai Okamura of Darker than Black fame and also written by Kon, and "Cannon Fodder" (大砲の街, Taihō no Machi), written and directed by Otomo himself.

Plot

Magnetic Rose

The Corona, a deep space salvage freighter, is out on a mission when it encounters a distress signal and responds to it. They come upon a spaceship graveyard orbiting a giant space station. The crew's two engineers, Heintz and Miguel, enter it to get a closer look.

Once inside, they discover an opulent European interior and several furnished rooms (in varying states of decay), but find no signs of life. They discover that the station belongs to a once famous opera diva named Eva Friedel who disappeared after the murder of her fiancé, Carlo Rambaldi, a fellow singer. Continuing the search for the source of the signal, the engineers split up, with each experiencing paranormal encounters, including strange noises and visions of Eva. Miguel enters the dilapidated underbelly of the station, and in a cavernous chamber he finds a broken piano playing the distress signal. He begins to hallucinate and Eva suddenly runs up to kiss him.

Jo Bennett

Joleen MaryAnn "Jo" Bennett (Kathy Bates) is the CEO of Sabre, the company that buys Dunder Mifflin in season 6. In season 8 she gives up the CEO position but remains chairman of the board. She is a forthright and stubborn Southern woman who has authored an autobiography titled Take A Good Look. She owns two harlequin Great Danes and a white Cadillac Escalade Hybrid; she is also a breast cancer survivor, a licensed pilot and a friend of Nancy Pelosi.

Donna (album)

Donna is the self-titled album by Filipino singer-actress Donna Cruz, released in 1989 by Viva Records in the Philippines. Cruz recorded all the songs at the age of thirteen, kaing her the youngest artist from Viva Records to record an album. Donna was generally well received by the public and has earned a double platinum certification. Cruz received an award for Best New Female Recording Artist at the 1992 Awit Awards. The album spawned the hits "Rain" (a Boy Modragon original), "Boy (I Love You)" (a Cherie Gil original) and "Kapag Tumibok ang Puso" which was Cruz's breakthrough hit single.

Plot

The story, set in Ferrara, starring Matilde, wife of a small industrial, Roberto, struggling with a serious crisis in the family; her son, Matteo, falls in love with mother's best friend, Paola, and the daughter Nina leaves her husband Fausto and her son to pursue a modeling career.

Then Nina falls in love with Gianfranco Vezze, financier of a South American multinational business with Roberto. Matilde, who feels neglected by her family, decides to separate for a while from her husband, and during the separation, he meets Enrico, her old love at a young age that lives in Hamburg, and falls in love with him again. But when Nina and Roberto are arrested and charged with fraud and drug dealing Matilde decides to return home. During the process, Enrico reveals to Matteo the true identity of Vezze and his previous in the financial sector, but also reveals that is protected by the corporation for which he works, so it becomes difficult to catch him; Matteo decides to ask Vezze's wife, Lisa Longhi, locked in a psychiatric clinic. Lisa, encouraged by her father, will testify in court, and Roberto will be exonerated from the accusations directed against him, having been cheated by Vezze, which is a fugitive under a false name, involved years earlier in the murder of an entrepreneur in Marseille.
