Me & You (Nero song)

"Me and You" is a song by British dubstep trio Nero that appears on their debut studio album Welcome Reality. It was released in the United Kingdom as a digital download on 2 January 2011, with a 12" vinyl available the following day. On 8 January 2011 the single debuted at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart, also managing to top the UK Indie Chart.

The single was selected as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World on 28 September 2010.BBC Radio 1 DJs Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac also selected "Me and You" to be their Weekend Anthem during December 2010. It also featured in the Sky Sports September advert. The Dirtyphonics remix was on the soundtrack of video games such as Dirt: Showdown, Forza Horizon (on the 'Bass Arena' radio station), and in a Gran Turismo 5 trailer for the debut of the 2015 Acura NSX then was later featured in the official track list of Gran Turismo 6. The song was used as the walk out song for the 2011–12 season of the Hyundai A-League.

Despite its name, the single's B-side track "Welcome Reality" is not included on the album of the same name. Although, a VIP mix of the song can be found in the iTunes deluxe version of the album.

History

Me and You come from a musical family, discovered by Dennis Brown, they began their career in 1974, he, Alton Ellis, Castro Brown and Granville Blake produced two albums, Natty Dread and Natty Dread Version which have recently been released for the first time. They then continued their career in 1979 signing with the DEB Music label run by Castro Brown and Dennis Brown. (DEB stands for Dennis Emmanuel Brown). Their debut "This Love" reached the top 10 of the reggae charts and was followed by "You Never Know What You Got (Til It’s Gone)" produced by Dennis Brown and Castro Brown and backed by the We The People Band, which topped the reggae chart and was also a crossover success reaching number 31 on the UK Singles Chart in July 1979. These two tracks were taken from the From Me To You album produced by Dennis Brown and Castro Brown and backed by the We The People Band. They toured as part of the DEB showcase and in 1980 were voted among the best newcomers in the Black Echoes awards. They continued to enjoy reggae chart hits with singles such as "Let Me Go", "Casual Affair", "Who Told You So" and "Back Together Again" all taken from the album Let Me Go, and "Rock This Rub-A-Dub".

The Music

The Music were an English alternative rock band, formed in Kippax, Leeds in 1999. Comprising Robert Harvey (vocals, guitar), Adam Nutter (lead guitar), Stuart Coleman (bass) and Phil Jordan (drums), the band came to prominence with the release of their debut album, The Music, in 2002. The band released two further studio albums, Welcome to the North (2004) and Strength in Numbers (2008), before parting ways in 2011.

Career

The Music all met at Brigshaw High School, except Phil Jordan who went to Garforth, and began playing in 1999 as Insense. In 2001 the song "Take the Long Road and Walk It" circulated as a demo before being released by Fierce Panda as a 1000-copies-only single, a rarity from its day of release. Around this time the NME and Steve Lamacq were describing them as the best unsigned band in Britain. The band were quickly signed by Hut, who released their first EP You Might as Well Try to Fuck Me.

In 2002, following another EP (The People) they released their eponymous début album which reached No. 4 in the UK album charts. Their début single was re-issued as part of a two-disc set to promote the album, and reached No. 14 in the singles chart. Two further singles from the album, "Getaway" and "The Truth is No Words" reached No. 26 and No. 18 respectively. June 2003 saw them filling in for an absent Zwan on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Radioinactive

Kamal Humphrey De Iruretagoyena, better known by his stage name Radioinactive, is an indie hip hop artist from Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the Shape Shifters collective. He was a member of Log Cabin along with Eligh, Murs and Scarub. He has released a number of solo albums, as well as collaborating with artists such as Busdriver, Daedelus and Antimc.

Career

Radioinactive released the first album, Pyramidi, on Mush Records in 2001.The Weather, his collaborative album with rapper Busdriver and producer Daedelus, was released on the label in 2003.

In 2004, he released Free Kamal with producer Antimc. Josh Drimmer of Dusted Magazine said: "Intelligent and fun, it’s a good record to listen to with a cool glass of lemonade. And a dictionary."

The second solo album, Soundtrack to a Book, was released on Stranger Touch Records in 2006. Mason Jones of Dusted Magazine said, "Soundtrack to a Book is an excellent mini-album, perhaps the best yet from Radioinactive."

He released the third solo album, The Akashic Record, on Flying Carpet Studios in 2012.

The Music (sculpture)

The Music (also known as The Music Group, Polish: Muzyka, Grupa Muzyka) is one of three sculptures located on the roof of the building on Koszykowa Street 34/50 in Warsaw since 1952. The project was chosen after an artistic competition. The monument was designed by Józef Gosławski, but his wife - Wanda - and his brother - Stanisław - helped him with its realization because of the short deadline. Lack of scaffolds, problems with obtaining funds and the short deadline forced the artists to write a letter to the chief architect of Warsaw - Józef Sigalin. After that, the conditions were improved and work was completed on time.

The image of Music Group was on one of the postcards published in 1952. It cost 1.30 zł, of which 0.08 zł was spent on The Social Fund of Reconstruction of Capital City.

Me, You & the Music

Me, You & the Music is the debut studio album by American recording artist Jessica Sanchez, released on April 30, 2013 by Interscope Records and 19 Entertainment. The album's lead single, "Tonight" features American R&B singer Ne-Yo and was released to all digital retailers on March 21, 2013. The song's accompanying music video was shot in downtown Los Angeles on March 1, 2013 with director Justin Francis.

Background

Following the series finale of the eleventh season of American Idol Sanchez was signed to Interscope Records/19 Entertainment to begin work on her debut studio album. Recording for the album began during the American Idols Live Tour in mid July 2012. She worked with producers Mark J. Feist, Harvey Mason, Jr. and Toby Gad among others for the album. It was set to feature ballads but would exhibit "more of an R&B/Pop/Urban kind of feel". The album's recording and production wrapped in mid January 2013 where the final track listing was selected mixed and mastered. It was initially set for release on May 14, 2013, but this was later moved up to April 30. Fans of "American Idol" have gotten used to a full length debut from that season's winner and, typically, a few weeks later, an album from the year's runner-up. Season 11, however, was different, Sanchez was allowed more time on the project to craft the right sound and direction for the album.
