MDFMK

MDFMK was an industrial rock band formed by two members of KMFDM, Sascha Konietzko and Tim Sköld. Lucia Cifarelli, formerly of the band Drill, later rounded out the trio.

History

Due to "differences in vision and drive", KMFDM disbanded in 1999. Sascha Konietzko and Skold continued working together under the name MDFMK. Konietzko was living in New York at the time, and auditioned female singers to provide vocals for the album. Through this process, he selected Lucia Cifarelli (formerly of the band Drill). The trio released just one album: MDFMK (2000, Universal Records). All three shared vocal duties on the album. Their song "Missing Time" was used in the animated movie, Heavy Metal 2000.

The band toured the United States and Canada in 2000, during which it had a fourth member, a giant robot guitarist named Zyclor.

Konietzko stated in 2003 that there was material for what he called "MDFMK #2", but that Universal Records was "sitting on it". He also said that if Universal never released the material, he would eventually get the rights to it and release it himself.

MDFMK (album)

MDFMK is an album released by industrial rock band MDFMK on March 28, 2000. It was the only studio album released by the band before it was discontinued and reformed once again as KMFDM. In a 2003 interview, band leader Sascha Konietzko said the album had sold around 120,000 copies.

    Eye to eye
    Face to face
    Soul to soul
    Blow by blow
    Piece by piece
    You get the picture
    Beat by beat
    Starting to make sense
    Step by step
    We're getting closer
    Inch by inch
    Slowly sinking in
And you ache and you bleed
You can't talk you can't sleep
    Know who you are
    Don't conform anymore
    Burn the bridge
    Stall the machine
    Cut those ties
    Come kiss that guillotine
    Blow your mind
    Break the routine
    Leave everything behind
    Come taste the gasoline
Row by row, side by side
    Round by round
    A field of killing
    Six feet down without hands
    Burn the bridge
    Stall the machine
    Cut those ties
    Come kiss that guillotine
    Blow your mind
    Break the routine
    Leave everything behind
    Come taste the gasoline
    You believed in the beat
    Can't talk you can't sleep
    Know who you are
    Don't conform anymore
