Maybe Tonight

"Maybe Tonight" is a pop song written by Dave Bassett, Jess Cates and Lindy Robbins, produced by Bryon Jones and Adam Reily for Kate DeAraugo's first album A Place I've Never Been (2005). It was released as the album's first single on 28 November 2005 (see 2005 in music) in Australia as a Maxi single. It was successful in her home country Australia, becoming her first number-one hit.

Music video

The video opens with DeAraugo staring out her bedroom window in the rain, before it cuts away to a shot of a young couple (DeAraugo and her partner in the past), sitting on a Motel roof with an umbrella. The video continues to cut between the present and the past, until we see her partner in the present with his car broken down, then we see the young couple where the male has fallen of his bike and hurt his knee, then they kiss. DeAraugo's partner then tries to ring her on his mobile phone, however he drops it and it breaks apart, while at the same time she just tried to call him. The video continues to cut between the young couple, and DeAraugo waiting for her boyfriend, who is running in the street to her, and we then see she is staying at the same motel we saw the young couple in. We then also see DeAraugo in a glamarous brown dress with shoulder-length earrings, as well as a black dress, in front of a backdrop of paintings. Her partner finally arrives at her motel while she is reminiscing, and they embrace as the video fades out.

Hold Me (Laura Branigan album)

Hold Me is the fourth studio album by American singer Laura Branigan, released in 1985 on Atlantic Records.

The lead single from Branigan's fourth album, "Spanish Eddie", was her sixth top 40 hit in two and a half years, although it failed to enter the top 20. A splashy video featuring a newly svelte Branigan was a hit on the various music video programs of the day (NBC's Friday Night Videos, TBS' Night Tracks and USA's Night Flight among the biggest), but it was not picked up by MTV. The following single release, "Hold Me", was a top 40 dance hit and her introduction of the rock ballad "I Found Someone" (co-written by Michael Bolton) reached even higher on the AC chart, but neither song was supported by a music video, and they stayed in the lower reaches of the pop charts. The track "When the Heat Hits the Streets" was heard in a television advertising campaign for the Chrysler Laser, Chrysler being a sponsor for Branigan's 1985-86 "Hold Me" tour (a Chrysler Laser was prominently displayed in the "Spanish Eddie" video). Despite the weak sales, the album has many of her fan-favourite songs. Not only did she continue to perform "Spanish Eddie" in concerts throughout her career, but she began a lifelong tradition of closing every show with an encore of "Forever Young", the ballad that was made a cult hit by German band Alphaville.

Stay in Touch

Stay in Touch is the tenth studio album by a German singer Sandra, released in 2012.

Background

The album was produced by a German DJ duo Blank & Jones, and incorporated 1980s style into songs, reproducing the sound pattern of Sandra's early albums, with the track "Kings & Queens" even sampling her 1985 hit "(I'll Never Be) Maria Magdalena". It was also the first album since 1988's Into a Secret Land to feature Hubert Kemmler as a songwriter and background vocalist.

Stay in Touch was released on October 26, 2012 in both standard format and a limited deluxe 2 CD set featuring extended versions of songs. The album has received favourable response from Sandra's fans and met with moderate commercial success internationally.

Singles

"Maybe Tonight" was released as the first single in May 2012 and charted only at number 77 in Germany. The second and final single became "Infinite Kiss" in autumn 2012, but failed to chart.
