Max's Famous Hot Dogs is a restaurant in Long Branch, New Jersey known for its hot dogs. Max's uses quarter pound Schickhaus beef/pork dog slow cooked on a griddle. Max's Hotdog style is a Jersey Shore variant of Kosher style. It is popular with local celebrities and is said to be a favorite of Bruce Springsteen and the late Cardinal John O'Connor. Among those who have visited Max’s are Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Van Zandt, Red Buttons, Gov. Brendan Byrne, Connie Francis, actors Joe Pantoliano, Joe Pesci, Nick Puccio, John Travolta, Jackie Mason, Dean Martin and singer Frankie Valli.
In 1928, Max Altman, opened a small restaurant on the northern end of the Long Branch pier. Max named the place after himself and did business with Milford Maybaum, who in 1950 bought him out and kept the name. Soon after Max's was purchased, Maybaum expanded the business by moving it south of the Long Branch Pier and amusements. After a short time, Maybaum became known as Mr. Max by patrons and friends. Max's developed the idea for the Jersey fresh corn on the cob and family style portions of French fries and onion rings.

Max's of Manila, popularly known as Max's Restaurant or simply Max's, is a Philippine-based restaurant which serves fried chicken and other Filipino dishes.
Max's Restaurant's beginnings started in 1945, after World War II. Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford-educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo's nearby home for a drink or two. Later on, the troops insisted that they pay for their drinks. This prompted Maximo to open a cafe, where the troops could enjoy food and drinks. It opened its first restaurant at 21 Scout Tuazon, Brgy. Laging Handa, Quezon City.
The cafe initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo's niece, Ruby, who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite for the GIs. Soon, the Filipino public heard about the delicious chicken-tender, juicy and crispy-and they came too! Max's Restaurant was born.
Over the years, Max's Restaurant's popularity grew and it became known as "the house that fried chicken built." It has expanded in Metro Manila, Southern and Northern Luzon, Cebu, and to California and other places in the United States. It has also expanded to Canada. It will soon open restaurants in other countries as well.
Empire Alderney was a 288 ton coastal tanker which was built in 1943. She was renamed Mil 50 in 1946 and Max S in 1955. Her fate is unknown, last being registered in the Cayman Islands in 1980.
Empire Alderney was built by J. Harker Ltd., Knottingley as yard number 166. She had a 330 horsepower (250 kW) Crossley engine.Empire Alderney was launched on 11 December 1943 and completed in June 1944. She was built for the Ministry of War Transport and managed by T J Metcalf.
In 1946, Empire Alderney was sold to Norsk Tankanlaeg of Norway and renamed Mil 50. She served with them for nine years and was sold to Partenrederei Max S, West Germany in 1955, being renamed Max S. In 1958, she was sold to the Marina Mercante Nicaragüense, Nicaragua, passing to the Compagnia Maritima Mundia in 1959. Max S was last recorded as being registered to Trafford Holdings Ltd, Cayman Islands in 1980.
