Matty Kennedy

Matthew "Matty" Kennedy (born 1 November 1994) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a winger for League One side Port Vale, on loan from Championship club Cardiff City.

He began his career at Kilmarnock, and represented Scotland at all youth international levels. He was sold to Everton in August 2012, and was loaned out to Tranmere Rovers, Milton Keynes Dons, and Hibernian, before being sold on to Cardiff City in February 2015. Initially a first team regular at Cardiff, he was dropped in the 2015–16 season and joined Port Vale on loan in January.

Career

Kilmarnock

Kennedy had the opportunity to join the Celtic and Rangers youth academies, but chose to join Kilmarnock as the club were closer to his home and he felt played a style of football that suited him. On 19 November 2011, aged 17, Kennedy made his first team debut as a substitute in a 1–1 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road. He started his first game for "Killie" in a 2–1 win over St. Mirren at Rugby Park on 2 January 2012. He ended the 2011–12 campaign with 11 Scottish Premier League appearances. He played three games at the start of the 2012–13 season before leaving the club; manager Kenny Shiels expressed his concern that Kennedy had left Kilmarnock too soon and he had missed out on seeing Kennedy's "proper development" at the club.

Matthew Kennedy (Australian footballer)

Matthew Kennedy (born 4 February 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). The son of St Kilda player Des Kennedy, he was recruited from Queensland team, Southport. Kennedy played during the 1990s for both the Brisbane Bears and the Brisbane Lions after the Bears merged with Fitzroy. After 188 games of league football, he retired during the 2001 season, the year Brisbane won the first of their three consecutive flags.

Matthew Kennedy (born March 14, 1957) is an American writer, film historian, and anthropologist.

Early life and education

Matthew Kennedy was born in Redding, California, attended Shasta High School, and the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in theater arts in 1979. Moving to San Francisco, he studied and performed with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, before moving to New York to study with choreographer Merce Cunningham and perform with Jonathon Apples + Company. After serving on the executive staff of the California Arts Council, he pursued graduate studies in anthropology at the University of California, Davis, where he was awarded a Fulbright research grant. Graduating with a Masters of Arts in 1992, the following year he joined the faculty in anthropology at City College of San Francisco, where he continues to teach.

Kennedy's books include Marie Dressler: A Biography (1999), Edmund Goulding’s Dark Victory: Hollywood’s Genius Bad Boy (2004) with a foreword by Kevin Brownlow, Joan Blondell: A Life between Takes (2007), and Roadshow! The Fall of Film Musicals in the 1960s (2014).
