Matt Simon

Matthew Blake Simon (born 22 January 1986) is an Australian international football (soccer) player who plays as a striker for Sydney FC in the A-League.

Simon started his senior career with Central Coast Lightning before joining Central Coast Mariners in 2006. In 2012, Simon signed with K-League club Chunnam Dragons, however, his opportunities at the club were limited by persistent injuries. In 2013, Simon rejoined the Mariners. Simon is the Mariners' all-time leading goal scorer. He moved to Sydney FC after being released by the Mariners in 2015.

Simon has made two appearances for the Australia national team. He also appeared for Australia U23 at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Club career

Central Coast Mariners

He was added to the Mariners' squad in the week leading up to their 2006 Pre-Season Cup play-off against Newcastle Jets. Simon was then brought back to the squad after Nik Mrdja suffered a heel injury before the round 19 clash against Newcastle. He starred for the Central Coast Lightning during their 2006 NSW Winter Super League campaign. Simon had a solid 07-08 season with the Mariners despite not scoring any goals. In the first league game for the 08-09 season Simon immediately broke his duck and scored off a header that would prove to be the start of his wonderful season.

The Real World: Hawaii

The Real World: Hawaii is the eighth season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the fourth season of The Real World to be filmed in the Pacific States region of the United States, the only season not named after a city, and the first season set in the United States to be filmed outside of the contiguous United States.

The season featured seven people who lived in a modern beach house in Honolulu, Hawaii, which production started from January to May 15, 1999. The season premiered on June 15, of that year and consisted of 23 episodes.

It is notable for the cast's concerns over castmate Ruthie Alcaide's excessive drinking, resulting in her leaving the house to enter an alcohol treatment program, which is cited as one of the series' memorable moments by Time magazine.

Matt Simon (American football)

Matt Simon (born December 6, 1953) is an American football coach and former player in the United States. He is currently the running backs coach at the University at Buffalo, a position he has held since June 2011. Simon has previously coached in the collegiate ranks, most notably as head coach at the University of North Texas from 1994 to 1997. Simon is one of only ten football coaches to win both an NCAA Division I-A/FBS national championship (with Washington in 1991) and a Super Bowl (with the Baltimore Ravens in 2000).

Born in Akron, Ohio, Simon grew up in El Paso, Texas. He attended Burges High School where he was a three-sport standout in football, track and wrestling. He earned four letters as a linebacker for the Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds and was later inducted into the ENMU Hall of Honors. Immediately following his playing career, Simon began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater. After one year as an assistant at Borger High School, Simon coached the tight end and linebacker positions at the University of Texas at El Paso under head coach Bill Michael.
