Matt Ryan

Matthew Thomas "Matt" Ryan (born May 17, 1985) is an American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Boston College, Ryan was drafted by the Falcons with the third overall pick in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Ryan was Boston College's starting quarterback from 2005 to 2007, leading them to three bowl victories and a 25-7 record in 32 starts. He threw for 200 or more yards 15 times and is fifth all-time in school history in passing yards and in pass completions. He earned MVP honors at the 2005 MPC Computers Bowl.

In 2007, Ryan led his team to an ACC Atlantic Division championship and was named ACC Player of the Year. During his rookie year, Ryan started all 16 games for the Falcons and led them to the playoffs with an 11-5 season record. He has also earned honors as the 2008 NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Personal life

Ryan, the third of four siblings, was born to Bernice and Michael Ryan, both Roman Catholics of Irish descent. One of Ryan's uncles, John Loughery, played quarterback at Boston College from 1979-82. Ryan launched a website during his senior year at BC called Mattyice.com, where fans and media have 24-hour access to video highlights, updated biographical information, statistics and other information about Ryan. He created an activity named "Folleyball" for NFL Play 60 at NFL Rush.com.

Matt Ryan (rower)

Matt Ryan (born 23 June 1984 in Sydney) is a retired Australian rower who has represented at two Olympic Games.

Ryan competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal in Coxless four. In London 2012 he rowed in the Australian men's eight which placed 6th.

Ryan began his rowing at The King's School, Parramatta and was part of the First VIII crew in 2001 and 2002 that won the AAGPS Head of the River. The 2001 crew which also contained fellow future Australian senior national team rowers Nicholas Hudson and Sam Loch, also went on to win the Barrington Cup to be crowned National Schoolboy champions. In addition to this, the 2001 crew won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. In 2002, Ryan stroked the Australian Junior Coxed Four to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships in Trakai, Lithuania.

Continuing to move through the underage ranks, Ryan was a bronze medallist in 2003 in the Men's Eight at the Nations Cup regatta (now the World Under 23 Championships) in Belgrade, Serbia. The following year, Ryan returned to the top of the podium at the World Under 23 Regatta in Poznan, Poland in an all-New South Wales, Coxed Four.

Matt Ryan (rugby league)

Matthew Ryan (born 13 June 1988) is a rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Bradford Bulls in the Championship. He normally plays either Second-Row or Prop.

Early life

Ryan attended High School at Marist College Eastwood and graduated with the class of 2005. He was a North Ryde Hawks junior from the age of eight.

2008-2010: Early playing career

Ryan played with the Wests Tigers in 2008 season of the National Youth Competition. After 2008, Ryan played for Balmain in New South Wales Cup for 2 seasons.

2011: Move to Parramatta

Ryan came to Parramatta midway through the 2011 season, training with the first grade squad and playing in NSW Cup for feeder club Wentworthville. He said of the change of clubs, "Parramatta gave me an opportunity to go across there and be coached by Mooks. I couldn't say no. I always knew, in the back of my mind, that I was never really in the Tigers' plans. They had a good quality back row there. Nothing against the club, but I just had to go somewhere for a challenge, and change my attitude a bit."

Matt Ryan (born Matthew Darren Evans; 11 April 1981) is a British actor from Swansea, Wales, best known as Edward Kenway in the Ubisoft video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and John Constantine in the NBC series Constantine.

Early life

Ryan was born in Swansea, the son of Steve, a postman turned record producer, and Maria Evans, a dance teacher. He attended schools in Penyrheol before moving on to Gorseinon College, where he completed a BTEC Performing Arts course. He graduated from the Bristol Old Vic in 2003 and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2004.

Career

As a child, Ryan appeared as Gavroche in the West End production of Les Misérables. He played Mick Rawson on the CBS series Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, a character that had been introduced in the Criminal Minds episode "The Fight". He performed the voice and motion capture of Edward Kenway in Ubisoft Montreal's video game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. In February 2014, it was announced that Ryan was cast as John Constantine in NBC's pilot for Constantine. He starred in all 13 episodes of the first and only season. He reprised his role in a crossover episode of Arrow.

Matt Ryan (ice hockey)

Matthew Ryan (born November 12, 1983) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre currently playing for Dundee Stars of the Elite Ice Hockey League.

Playing career

Undrafted, Ryan played Junior hockey with the Wexford Raiders of the OPJHL before committing to a collegiate career at Niagara University of the CHA. After posting an impressive 19 points in his freshman year, Ryan left in his following sophomore year for the higher level of competition in the Ontario Hockey League. In his second year with the Guelph Storm in 2003–04, Ryan scored a career high 77 points on the way to reaching the Memorial Cup.

On August 2, 2004, Matt was signed by the Los Angeles Kings to a three-year entry level contract. In 2004–05, his first professional season, Ryan scored 24 points with the Kings AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. He matched his offensive out with the Monarchs the following season and made his NHL debut with the Kings on December 31, 2005 against the Dallas Stars finishing 2005–06 with 12 games recording an assist.

Matt Ryan is a fictional character from the Australian crime drama City Homicide, played by Damien Richardson. He made his debut screen appearance in the first season episode "In The Hands Of Giants Pt 1", which was broadcast on 28 August 2007.

Storylines

Matt's Italian mother, Isabella, disappeared when he was young. Following her disappearance, Matt's father started drinking more often. For a long time, Matt's boss, Stanley Wolfe (Shane Bourne), was the only colleague who knew about Isabella. Matt becomes attracted to Jennifer Mapplethorpe (Nadine Garner) and they develop a close friendship.

In the final episode of season one "Raising the Dead", the case centres around the body of a woman found in a construction park. This is later revealed as Matt's mother. In the season two episode "Somersaulting Dogs" it is revealed that Matt has a new girlfriend called Emma Treadgold (Meredith Penman), whom he met at salsa classes.

Since then, Emma and Matt have moved in together. The relationship has issues, as highlighted in season 4, episode 4, where Emma and Matt have a fight at his work. This comes directly after the episode before, where he forgot about her dinner party, and stayed back at work instead. He also neglected to call. In season 4, episode 7, Matt states that he delayed taking the sergeant exam for Emma, but now intends to sit the exam as she has left for France.
