Matt Gibb

Matthew Phillip Gibb (better known as Matt Gibb) (born 15 January 1981), is a television presenter in Auckland, New Zealand. He is best known for presenting the children's television show Studio 2 from 2004 until 2010.

Gibb is currently a regular presenter for a segment on Kiwi Living, a New Zealand lifestyle television programme. He also fronts the Telecom campaign "Tech in a Sec" and sometimes hosts the weekly Lotto draw.

Career

Gibbs first television appearance was as the host of Squirt. In 2004 he was a co-host on the popular children's show Studio 2 until the series ended in October 2010.

Gibb then worked as an on-screen producer for U live on TVNZ U. Gibb also works as the fill-in host and contributor on the breakfast show Good Morning. He also presents the Telecom campaign "Tech in a Sec", and occasionally hosts the weekly Lotto draw.

In 2015 Gibb began presenting pre-recorded segments about travel and unique homes on the New Zealand lifestyle programme Kiwi Living.

Matt is a village, and former municipality, in the municipality of Glarus Süd and canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Matt lies in the valley of the Sernf river, and consists of the village of Matt itself, and the mountain hamlet of Weissenberge.

History

Matt is first mentioned in 1273 as Mattun.

In 1879, the valley of the Linth river was connected to the Swiss railway network by the opening of the Swiss Northeastern Railway line from Weesen, but Matt, in the side-valley of the Sernf river, remained unserved. This impacted the local economy, and various proposals were brought forward to provide rail service to the Sernf valley. Eventually, on 8 July 1905, the Sernftal tramway, a metre gauge roadside electric tramway, was opened connecting Schwanden with Matt and other communities as far as Elm. Service on this line continued until 31 May 1969, when it was replaced by road services. In 1967, a cable car was opened to link Matt and Weissenberge.

On 1 January 2011, Matt became part of the new municipality of Glarus Süd.
