Matt Bessette (born December 28, 1984) is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in Bellator's Featherweight division.
Bessette was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He was diagnosed with leukemia on August 13, 1988 at the age of three and was hospitalized for it. The doctors gave him 50% chance of survival, but became more optimistic after the initial treatments, which reduced significantly the leukemic cells. Bessette also developed asthma at an early age, although that never prevented him from competing in sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, and football. After graduating from Stafford High School in 2003, Bessette attended the University of Hartford. While still in the university, he was introduced to mixed martial arts at the age of 22 and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Bessette started his professional career in 2007. He fought mainly for Connecticut-based promotion Reality Fighting.
Matt may refer to:
Matt is a given name. It is a diminutive of Matthew, and often serves as a nickname for persons named Matthew. Less commonly, it is used as a surname.
Matt is a village, and former municipality, in the municipality of Glarus Süd and canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Matt lies in the valley of the Sernf river, and consists of the village of Matt itself, and the mountain hamlet of Weissenberge.
Matt is first mentioned in 1273 as Mattun.
In 1879, the valley of the Linth river was connected to the Swiss railway network by the opening of the Swiss Northeastern Railway line from Weesen, but Matt, in the side-valley of the Sernf river, remained unserved. This impacted the local economy, and various proposals were brought forward to provide rail service to the Sernf valley. Eventually, on 8 July 1905, the Sernftal tramway, a metre gauge roadside electric tramway, was opened connecting Schwanden with Matt and other communities as far as Elm. Service on this line continued until 31 May 1969, when it was replaced by road services. In 1967, a cable car was opened to link Matt and Weissenberge.
On 1 January 2011, Matt became part of the new municipality of Glarus Süd.
I talk with my friend over the phone,
I'm scared to say things I don't know and be wrong,
And words always sound much better coming out of someone else
But put it in a song and know that we can get along
I'm trying to lose, lose my mind
When it's gone I'll tell you where it went
About the extent of it's stay
Strum a few chords and use my voice
And make this song with the hopes that you'd play along, along
And look at the ones before me
Some say I waste my time
But normal life seems so boring,
So trying to lose my mind
Well I met a girl,
She didnt like my song
She told me that old songs are better
She played me her favorite records
This is how I repayed her
I said it's okay to some but I hope that you can sing alone alone
And look at the ones before me
Some say I waste my time
