List of Source engine mods

This is a selected list of Source engine mods (modifications), the game engine created by Valve Corporation for most of their games, including Half-Life, Team Fortress 2, and Portal, as well as licensed to third parties. This list is divided into single-player and multiplayer mods.

Single-player mods

  • Aperture Tag - A modification based on Portal 2 that recreates the essence of the game Tag: The Power of Paint, the inspiration for the various gels used in Portal 2. Instead of a portal gun, the player solves puzzles using a mix of these gels that they can spray onto surfaces with a tool they carry.
  • Black Mesa - A recreation of Half-Life using the more advanced Source engine.
  • Coastline to Atmosphere - A mod set in the Half-Life 2 universe, following Gordon Freeman following the events of Half-Life 2.
  • Dear Esther - An experimental "ghost story" created as a research project at the University of Portsmouth; initially released as a free modification in 2008, a longer commercial version was developed and released in 2012.
  • Synergy (Extol album)

Synergy is the third studio album by Norwegian Christian extreme metal band Extol. It was released in 2003 on Century Media, but was licensed to Solid State Records.

With this album, the band shifted more towards a technical death/thrash sound. The Norwegian singer-songwriter Maria Solheim performs guest vocals on "Paradigms". The session guitarist Tore Moren plays guitar solo on "Nihilism 2002" and the first solo on "Psychopath". Samuel Durling of the death industrial band Mental Destruction performs distorted vocals on "Emancipation".

The album was recorded at Top Room Studios. It was produced by Børge Finstad and was mixed at Fagerborg Studios and Top Room Studios. Morten Lund mastered the album at Masterhuset AS. The album cover was painted by Hugh Syme, who has done work for such groups as Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Rush and Fates Warning. The band says that the cover picture "illustrates the synergy effect of elements working together (monk and Death) and thus gaining strength beyond what the effect would be if all the elements would be working separately."

    Massive! (TV programme)

Massive! was a short-lived Saturday morning British television programme aimed at a "youth" audience. It ran for two seasons, each of 22 episodes, between 1995 and 1996. A spin-off from the children's Saturday morning show Scratchy and Co, Massive! was aimed at a slightly older audience, and was presented by Denise van Outen.

One of the regular guests on the show was the horror-themed magician Simon Drake, who made a number of appearances on the show performing both sleight-of-hand tricks and larger illusions. One of these larger illusions, a sawing in half performed using van Outen as the assistant being sawed in half, drew a large number of viewer complaints due to the liberal use of fake blood, and the fact that van Outen was not restored into one piece before the show cut to a commercial break. Following an investigation of these complaints, the British television regulator, the ITC, warned the show's producers to moderate its content.

After the show's second season, it was cancelled due to low viewing figures, and some of its content incorporated into a revised version of Scratchy and Co.

    Massive animation

    Massive animation may refer to:

  • Crowd simulation technology for generating crowd-related visual effects for film and television
  • MASSIVE (software) (Multiple Agent Simulation System In Virtual Environment), a high-end computer animation and artificial intelligence software package used for generating crowd-related visual effects for film and television
  • MASSIVE (software)

MASSIVE (Multiple Agent Simulation System in Virtual Environment) is a high-end computer animation and artificial intelligence software package used for generating crowd-related visual effects for film and television.

    Overview

Massive is a software package developed by Stephen Regelous for the visual effects industry. Its flagship feature is the ability to quickly and easily create thousands (or up to millions with current advances in computer processing power) of agents that all act as individuals as opposed to content creators individually animating or programming the agents by hand. Through the use of fuzzy logic, the software enables every agent to respond individually to its surroundings, including other agents. These reactions affect the agent's behaviour, changing how they act by controlling pre-recorded animation clips, for example by blending between such clips, to create characters that move, act, and react realistically. These pre-recorded animation clips can come from motion-capture sessions, or can be hand-animated in other 3D animation software packages.
