Mason Williams

Mason Williams (born August 24, 1938) is an American guitarist and composer, best known for his instrumental "Classical Gas". He is also a comedy writer, known for his writing on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, and Saturday Night Live. He is also an eclectic poet and lyricist who has published several books.

Life

Mason Douglas Williams was born in Abilene, Texas; son of Jackson Eugene (a tile setter) and Kathlyn (Nations) Williams; married Sheila Ann Massey, April 22, 1961 (divorced); children: Kathryn Michelle.

He grew up dividing his time between living with his father in Oklahoma and his mother in Oakridge, Oregon. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1956. It was in Oklahoma that he began his lifelong friendship with artist Edward Ruscha.

He attended Oklahoma City University, 1957–60, and North Texas State University, one semester. Military Service: U.S. Navy, 1961–63.

Married Katherine Elizabeth Kahn in February, 1994, after first planning to marry in 1971; divorced after ten years.

Mason Ryan

Barri Griffiths (born 13 January 1982) is a Welsh professional wrestler and former Gladiators competitor, also known by his Gladiators name Goliath and his ring name Mason Ryan. He is best known for his time with WWE. After a short stint on the main roster. he was sent back to the now renamed developmental territory WWE NXT prior to his release in April 2014.

Griffiths studied construction management at Cardiff University, before working as a trainee carpenter and in his family's funeral home. He also played as a centre-back for Porthmadog FC, but a knee injury curtailed his career. He appeared as "Goliath" on Gladiators in 2009. Mason Ryan began training to be a professional wrestler in 2006, and competed around Europe for the next three years. In 2009, he signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and debuted as Mason Ryan in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), WWE's developmental territory, in January 2010. In July, he won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship and held the championship until February 2011. He made his main roster debut in January 2011, where he aligned himself with The New Nexus.

Mason Williams (baseball)

Mason Williams (born August 21, 1991) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut on June 12, 2015.

Early life

Williams was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He excelled for the local Little League team. After Mason completed the seventh grade at St. Teresa School, his family moved to Winter Garden, Florida, where he could compete against a higher level of competition with the hopes of receiving a college baseball scholarship.

Baseball career

Williams attended West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida, and played for the school's baseball team. The New York Yankees selected Williams in the fourth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. He signed for a $1.5 million signing bonus to forgo his scholarship to the University of South Carolina.

Williams started his career with the Gulf Coast Yankees of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League in 2010. He appeared in five games, hitting .222/.263/.222 in 18 at bats. He spent the 2011 season playing for the Staten Island Yankees of the Class A-Short Season New York–Penn League, where he hit .349/.395/.468 with three home runs, 31 runs batted in and 28 stolen bases in 68 games. After the season he was named the New York–Penn League's Most Valuable Player.
