Masaya Matsuura (松浦 雅也, Matsuura Masaya) (born June 16, 1961) is a video game designer and musician based in Tokyo, Japan. He was born in Osaka on June 16, 1961, and majored in Industrial Society at Ritsumeikan University. He has worked extensively with music and images, and has been active with the J-Pop band, PSY • S (サイズ) (or PSYCHOLOGICAL S). Matsuura been credited with popularizing the modern rhythm-based music video game at his studio NanaOn-Sha.
In April 1983, shortly after his graduation from Ritsumeikan University, Matsuura met singer Chaka (Mami Yasunori) and founded PSY • S (サイズ). The band's first album, Different View, was released in 1985. The group's musical style is a mixture of experimental synthesizer, electric guitar, and vocals. Matsuura is the band's composer and arranger, and he performs using a Fairlight CMI synthesizer. He has also mastered the keyboard, guitar, and bass and he occasionally performs these instruments in stage as well.
In the late 80s, PSY • S enjoyed fair degree of popularity in Japan thanks to a number of hits. Certain of their songs have been used in such anime shows as City Hunter, and in films. In 1987, Masaya Matsura oversaw musical composition for the anime adaptation of To-Y, Atsushi Kamijo's popular manga.
Masaya (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈsaʝa]) is the capital city of Masaya department in Nicaragua. It is situated approximately 14 km west of Granada and 31 km southeast from Managua.
The town of Masaya is just east of Masaya Volcano (Volcán de Masaya), an active volcano from which the city takes its name. With an estimated population of 140,000 (2005), it is Nicaragua's third most populous city, and it is culturally known as the City of Flowers.
During the Nicaraguan civil war of 1912, Nicaraguan rebel forces opened fire on American Marines and sailors passing through the city on their way to Granada on September 19, 1912.
Masaya is located centrally to a large agricultural production region in Nicaragua. Much of the production from the departments of Masaya and Carazo and the surrounding areas is shipped through Masaya on its way north, towards Managua and Leon. Masaya is also a notable industrial center, producing footwear and clothing. Other industries in the city include the processing of fiber and the manufacture of cigars, leather products, soap, and starch. Many of the communities surrounding Masaya produce hardwood and wicker furniture, and there is a neighborhood in Masaya near the lake dedicated to the production of hammocks.

Initially established by Japanese entertainment company Nippon Computer Systems (NCS) in 1984 as Masaya for taking part in video game market, the brand name was transferred to Extreme in November 2014.
