Masaya Matsumoto

Masaya Matsumoto (松本 昌也 Matsumoto Masaya, born 25 January 1995) is a Japanese professional footballer who plays forward for Oita Trinita in the J. League Division 2.

Career

Born in Ōita Prefecture, Matsumoto made his debut for Oita Trinita of the J. League Division 1 on 20 March 2013 in the J. League Cup against Albirex Niigata in which he started and played 64 minutes before being subbed off for Yasuhito Morishima as Oita won the match 1–1.

International

Matsumoto played in all five games for the Japan U17 team during the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in which Japan U17 made it to the quarter-finals of the tournament before bowing out to Brazil U17s. He then played for the Japan U20s during the 2012 AFC U-19 Championship in which he played and started in all four matches that Japan played before bowing out in the quarter-finals to Iraq U20s 2–1 and also missing a chance to qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the process.

Masaya

Masaya (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈsaʝa]) is the capital city of Masaya department in Nicaragua. It is situated approximately 14 km west of Granada and 31 km southeast from Managua.

The town of Masaya is just east of Masaya Volcano (Volcán de Masaya), an active volcano from which the city takes its name. With an estimated population of 140,000 (2005), it is Nicaragua's third most populous city, and it is culturally known as the City of Flowers.

History

During the Nicaraguan civil war of 1912, Nicaraguan rebel forces opened fire on American Marines and sailors passing through the city on their way to Granada on September 19, 1912.

Production

Masaya is located centrally to a large agricultural production region in Nicaragua. Much of the production from the departments of Masaya and Carazo and the surrounding areas is shipped through Masaya on its way north, towards Managua and Leon. Masaya is also a notable industrial center, producing footwear and clothing. Other industries in the city include the processing of fiber and the manufacture of cigars, leather products, soap, and starch. Many of the communities surrounding Masaya produce hardwood and wicker furniture, and there is a neighborhood in Masaya near the lake dedicated to the production of hammocks.

    Masaya (brand)

    Masaya Games (メサイヤゲームス Mesaiya Gēmusu) is a video game brand owned by Japanese company Extreme.

    Initially established by Japanese entertainment company Nippon Computer Systems (NCS) in 1984 as Masaya for taking part in video game market, the brand name was transferred to Extreme in November 2014.
