Mark Mills (writer)

Mark Mills is a British writer of screenplays and novels. His first screenplay was the BAFTA-nominated short film One Night Stand starring Jemma Redgrave and James Purefoy in 1993; this won Mills a Best Screenplay' award at the Angers European First Film Festival in 1995.

Mills's first novel was Amagansett, later reissued under the title The Whaleboat House published in 2004; this won him the award for Best Crime Novel by a Debut Author at the Crime Writers' Association Award. His second novel, The Savage Garden, was published in 2006. His third novel, The Information Officer, was published in April, 2009.

Mark Mills (architect)

Mark Mills (1921-2007) was an American architect who worked during the latter half of the 20th century. He apprenticed for Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West from 1944-1948. Mills adapted Wright's ideas by exploring the free-form possibilities of organic design by pouring concrete into molds, a technique in construction that allows for free-form exploration. Mills is known for his use of wood, glass, and stone. Imagination aided by a background in architectural engineering allowed him to push boundaries beyond other architects of his time. His designs were guided by his desire to use local materials, recyclable manufactured pieces, and wood as close to its original form as possible.

Education

Mills left his home town of Jerome, Arizona, to attend the University of Colorado, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. After graduating he was invited to meet the renowned Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1944, Mills interviewed with Wright for an apprenticeship at his firm, Taliesin West. Subsequently, Mills moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, and spent the next four years working under Wright and learning about design and building from the ground up.

Mark Mills (entrepreneur)

Mark Mills is a British entrepreneur. He has founded a number of companies including AIM listed CardPoint PLC (a company providing charging cash machines). His role as Chief Executive at CardPoint saw him participate in a Treasury Select Committee and a number of interviews, regarding the concept of charging cash machines. He has plenty of wealthy businesses and is nearly finished writing his book ; The Ten Rules.

Mark is a family-man and has three children to his wife of nineteen years. Mark was born and raised in England.
