Marc Roberts is a singer-songwriter and radio broadcaster. He is originally from Crossmolina, County Mayo, and now based in Galway. Prior to 1997, he fronted his own band doing own original work and American country classics. In May of that year, Roberts represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest with "Mysterious Woman", finishing in second place. His debut single reached number two on the Irish Singles Chart.

Career

Beginnings

Roberts' debut album was released in 1998. It highlighted his writing skills with six original compositions featured. Producers Chris O'Brien and Graham Murphy produced the album in Dublin. "Meet Me Half Way" and "Once in your Life" (title track co-written with Brian Kennedy) followed.

He performed in a tribute concert to the late John Denver, who is one of his influences along with other singer/songwriters James Taylor, David Gates, Dan Fogelberg, Janis Ian and Carole King. His shows have sold out the National Concert Hall, Dublin, Opera House, Cork and many other theatres in Ireland.

Marc Roberts (politician)

Marc K. Roberts is an American politician and a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 67 since January 1, 2013. He lives in Santaquin, UT with his wife and their four children.

Early Life and Education

Mark Roberts grew up in Provo and is the oldest of ten children. He attended Brigham Young University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and played for two and a half years on the BYU basketball team. He has a real estate license and has worked as a consultant for builders and developers. He currently works as the President of Operations for Platinum Payment Systems in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Political career

Representative Roberts was first elected in November 2012. During the 2014 Legislative Session, he served on the House Political Subdivisions Committee and the House Business and Labor Committee.

Marc Roberts (born September 20, 1959, Newark, New Jersey) was a Division I basketball player at American University in Washington, D.C., before starting a career as a sports agent. He has represented NFL players such as Antonio Freeman, Tyronne Drakeford, O.J. McDuffie, Jerry Porter, and Tyrone Wheatley, NBA players Bobby Jackson, Johnny Newman, and Derek Anderson, and World Champion boxers "Merciless" Ray Mercer, Shannon Briggs, Tracy Harris Patterson, Danell Nicholson, Charles Murray, and Alex Trujillo. He was one of the five sports agents consulted in making the film Jerry Maguire.

In 1989, Roberts formed the Triple Threat Enterprises boxing team by signing three American boxing Olympians: heavyweight gold medalist Ray "Merciless" Mercer, junior welterweight Charles "The Natural" Murray, and light heavyweight Al "Ice" Cole. In 1995 he founded and became the President and Chairman of Worldwide Entertainment and Sports Corp. and in 1996 it became public on the NASDAQ stock exchange as (WWES). Worldwide Entertainment and Sports specialized in negotiation of contracts and endorsements within the major sports venues including NFL, NBA, NASCAR, and Boxing.

Marc Roberts (footballer)

Marc Roberts (born 26 July 1990) is an English footballer who plays for Barnsley.

Career

Roberts began his career play for non-league sides Wakefield, Worksop Town and Buxton. He moved to Conference Premier side Halifax Town in July 2013. Roberts spent two seasons with the Shaymen before signing with League One club Barnsley in May 2015. He made his Football League debut on 8 August 2015 in a 3–1 defeat against Chesterfield.
