Mandy Moore

Amanda Leigh "Mandy" Moore (born April 10, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Moore first came to prominence with her 1999 debut single, "Candy", which peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. After singing with Epic Records, she released her first album, So Real, in 1999. It went on to receive a Platinum certification from the RIAA. Her 2000 single, "I Wanna Be with You", became her first Top 30 song in the US, peaking at number 24 on the Hot 100 chart. The parent album of the same name was released that same year to generally mixed reviews. The album went on to achieve Gold certification. After revealing her displeasure with her early works, Moore's self-titled third album, Mandy Moore (2001), featured a change of sound that drifted away from her "bubblegum pop" roots. The album spawned the single "In My Pocket", which became her third Top 20 song in Australia. The album itself was her final album to be certified by the RIAA, receiving a Gold certification.

Mandy Moore is an American choreographer who is best known for her work on So You Think You Can Dance. Her work has appeared on Seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Mandy was nominated for Emmy Awards both in 2007 and 2011. She has also choreographed duet and group numbers for So You Think You Can Dance United Kingdom, Canada, Ukraine and the Netherlands.

Mandy Moore is the self-titled third studio album by American pop singer Mandy Moore. It was released by Epic Records when she was 17 years old on June 19, 2001. Mandy Moore is notable for Moore's increasingly prominent role in the production, and being the transition album away from her bubblegum pop sound and teen pop image from her previous two albums, and leaning increasingly toward more R&B and pop rock, along with more sexual influences.

Background

After releasing her sophomore album, I Wanna Be with You, Moore noted that "All of the music has started to look and sound the same" and that she decided that it was time for her to move away from that. She stated in a Billboard interview that she wanted "no more dancer, no more singing to tracks. I got tired of that in a big way".

The compilation contains tracks from all of the singer's studio albums released up to 2003: So Real (1999), I Wanna Be with You (2000), Mandy Moore (2001) and Coverage (2003).

History

Mandy Moore was reportedly displeased that this collection, along with the album Candy, featured songs from her first two albums since she disowned that period of her career. The compilation did not receive any promotion or participation from Moore, was not released worldwide and landed at #148 in the U.S. Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The DVD additionally featured music videos and live performances.

The album has sold 104,000 copies in the United States.

For an unknown reason, the "Walk Me Home" music video featured on the DVD portion of this album is edited from its original version. The plotline about how Moore is actually daydreaming about being with an actor is gone.
