"Mama He's Crazy" is a song written by Kenny O'Dell, and recorded by American country music duo The Judds. It was released in April 1984 as the second from the album Wynonna & Naomi. The song was The Judds' second country hit and the first of fourteen number one country hits. The single went to number one for one week and spent a total of fourteen weeks on the country chart. It was only the second country number one sung by a female duo ever; previously only The Davis Sisters featuring Skeeter Davis had made it to number one on the country chart in 1953 with their song "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know".
Mama, I found someone
Like you said would come along
He's a sight, so unlike
Any man I've known
I was afraid to let him in
'Cause I'm not the trustin kind
But now I'm convinced
That he's heaven sent
And must be out of his mind
(Chorus)
Mama, he's crazy
Crazy over me
And in MY life is where he says
He always wants to be
I've never been so LOVED
He beats all I've ever seen
Mama, he's crazy
He's crazy over me
And, Mama, you've always said,
"Better look before you leap"
Maybe so, but here I go
Lettin' my heart lead me.
He thinks I hung the moon and stars
I think he's a livin' dream
Well, there are men
But ones like him
Are few and far between
(Repeat Chorus)
