Malax

Malax (Finnish: Maalahti) is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 5,589 (30 June 2015) and covers an area of 1,954.93 square kilometres (754.80 sq mi) of which 1,433.95 km² (553.65 sq mi) is water. The population density is 10.73 inhabitants per square kilometre (27.8/sq mi).

The municipality is bilingual, with the majority (7,001,880,000,000,000,000♠88%) being Swedish and the minority (7,000,900,000,000,000,000♠9%) Finnish speakers.
