Maksim Vasiljević (Maxim; secular name Milan Vasiljević; born 27 June 1968 in Foča, Yugoslavia) was enthroned as bishop of the Diocese of Western America of the Serbian Orthodox Church on July 30, 2006. Previously, he was the Bishop of Hum, Vicar bishop in the Metropolitanate of Dabro-Bosna, in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a professor of patrology at the University of Belgrade's School of Orthodox Theology. He was also was professor at Orthodox Theological Faculty in Foča (Srbinje), Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He was enthroned by Bp. Longin of the New Gracanica Metropolitanate, in the Cathedral Church of St. Stefan the First-Crowned in Alhambra, California. Bp. Maxim was elected to the see of the Serbian Diocese of Western America at the regular session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, held in May, 2006. Bp. Maxim succeeded Bp. Longin, who previously was the Administrator of the diocese.
