Madonna (studio)

Madonna (マドンナ, Madonna) is a Japanese adult video (AV) studio which specializes in the jukujo niche of Japanese pornography. By 2007, Madonna also launched the label Fitch, which has a focus on the bakunyū niche.

Company information

Madonna is an AV studio located in Tokyo, Japan which is affiliated with the large AV conglomerate Hokuto Corporation which distributes its videos through the DMM website. The General Manager of the company is Katsuhisa Aoyagi (青柳勝久).

Madonna registered its website www.madonna-av.com in October 2003 and released its first videos in December 2003. Their premier video, Man-Eating Mature Women - Semen Squeezing (JUK-001) starred Maki Tomoda, Aki Tomosaki and Mayumi Kusunoki.: The company specializes in movies in the "mature woman" (熟女, jukujo) or MILF pornography genre, sometimes with an incest theme. Such mature woman productions have been a growing trend in Japanese porn since the mid-1990s and were popularized in AV by director Goro Tameike at the end of the 1990s. In addition to Aki Tomosaki and Maki Tomoda, other mature actresses who appeared in early Madonna videos were Ayano Murasaki and Runa Akasaka.Eitaro Haga has been the company's chief director, with a listing of more than 150 videos for Madonna by late 2011.

Madonna (...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead album)

Madonna is the second studio album by the American band ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. It was released on October 19, 1999 by Merge Records.

Background and production

The cover art features a Hindu goddess painting by Conrad Keely called Portrait of Kali. The back art is another painting, Tribute to Ed Wicklander by James Neslo, a nod to a Seattle-based sculptor.

Madonna (EP)

Madonna is the second mini-album by South Korean girl group Secret. It was released on August 12, 2010 through TS Entertainment, and contains five tracks. The mini-album debuted at number 5 on the Gaon Album Chart on August 12. "Madonna", the album's lead single, debuted at number 1 on South Korea's Gaon Singles Chart and sold over 1,839,869 digital copies in South Korea within the year of 2010. Kang Jiwon and Kim Kibum, the composers who wrote "Madonna" highlighted that the inspiration behind the song is about living with confidence by becoming an icon in this generation, like the American singer Madonna.

Promotion

"Madonna" was first used as a promotional track from the album. On August 5, 2010, a teaser video was released online. In the teaser, the girls were performing the album track "Empty Space". The final music video premiered on August 12, 2010 along with Madonna's release. Secret had their debut performances of "Madonna" on Mnet's M! Countdown, KBS's Music Bank, MBC's Show! Music Core and SBS's Inkigayo from August 12 to August 15.

Hits (Phil Collins album)

Hits (stylized as ...Hits), released in 1998 and again in 2008, following the success of "In the Air Tonight" on the Cadbury ad campaign, is the only greatest hits collection of Phil Collins studio recordings. The collection included fourteen Top 40 hits, including seven American number 1 songs, spanning from the albums Face Value (1981) through Dance into the Light (1996). One new Collins recording, a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors", also appeared on the collection and was a popular song on adult contemporary stations. ...Hits was also the first Phil Collins album to include four songs originally recorded for motion pictures (all of them U.S. number 1 hits) as well as his popular duet with Philip Bailey, "Easy Lover" (a UK number 1 hit).

In 1998, the album reached number 1 in the United Kingdom and number 18 in the United States. On 4 August 2008, it became the number 1 album on the New Zealand RIANZ album chart. In July 2012, the album re-entered the U.S. charts, reaching number 6 on the Billboard 200 when the album price was deeply discounted very briefly by Amazon.com. It has sold 3,429,000 in the US as of July 2012.

Hits (Kylie Minogue album)

Hits is a compilation album by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue. It was released solely in Japan, Hong Kong and the Philippines by EMI. The compilation contains songs from Light Years (2000), Fever (2001), Body Language (2003), Ultimate Kylie (2004), Showgirl Homecoming Live (2007), X (2007) and Aphrodite (2010), in addition to a remix of "Get Outta My Way" by Japanese electronic musician Yasutaka Nakata of capsule. A special edition was also released, including a bonus DVD of music videos.

Hits (Pulp album)

Hits is a greatest hits collection by UK indie-pop band Pulp, released in November 2002.

Background

As a collection, Hits only covers Pulp's singles from the early-90s when they started becoming popular, although the band had existed in one form or another since 1979. "Mis-Shapes", from Different Class, is the only hit single not included here, apparently because the band cannot stand the song. Two other singles, "Common People" and "Disco 2000", are presented in their Different Class album mixes rather than their more familiar (but since deleted) "hit" single versions. The compilation also includes non-single track "Underwear" and a new song "Last Day of the Miners' Strike".

The album was also released on DVD under the same title, featuring the band's promotional videos from the same era, a number of live performances, documentaries and short movies.
